I am pleased to announce that the Library will be going fine free on November 1.. The Library has not been handling cash, except for printing and copying, since the beginning of the pandemic. The circulation chief, Ellen, suggested making this permanent. Both the trustees and town manager are enthusiastic about the idea and SAILS has set our circulation parameters to reflect the change. Items checked out must still be returned. The period in which something becomes lost and will be invoiced is shorter now: four weeks. The Library is again accepting donations for Lenore's Pantry. We will be a collection point for this crucial resource for our neighbors. Please bring canned or dried food, toiletries and cleaning products to the Library and they will be brought to the Pantry. Thank you1 The Library will be closed Thursday, November 11 in honor of Veterans' Day. We will close at 5:00pm on Wednesday, November 24 and remain closed November 25 and 26 for Thanksgiving. We will reopen at 9:30 on Saturday, November 27.

Children's programs have returned! Children ages 9 and up did an amazing job making spooky creations out of shoeboxes, craft supplies, and their imaginations at Making Shoebox Haunted Houses in late October. The Halloween party for ages 2-6 welcomed lots of cute and not-so-scary toddlers and preschoolers for stories, songs, a parade and treats. The Young Adult Advisory Council also got off to a great start with plans to bring teen programming back in December and beyond. Check our website for more information. We are downsizing our Lego inventory! November 13 at 2 pm, children ages 6 and up will make a Lego creation to bring home and keep. Call the children's room to register (required). Space is limited. Story times continue Monday and Thursday mornings at 10 am in November, but will not be held on November 11, 25, or 29 due to the holidays. We will have a Take and Make craft available Thursday, November 18. Stop by and get the makings for a nonedible turkey to decorate your Thanksgiving table!
