Thursday, July 16, 6:00 pmBrian Armstrong, an independent historian, researcher, and author lectures throughout the state on local history. He holds a BA in History and a BA in Political Science from American University. Mr. Armstrong is the President of the League of Historical Societies of New Jersey and past President of the South River Historical & Preservation Society. In his presentation, Mr. Armstrong will go over New Jersey’s activities during the American revolution due to its strategic location and numerous military engagements. Profiles of famous patriots and soldiers associated with America’s quest for freedom are featured. Famous battles and events that occurred in the “Crossroads of the American Revolution” such as Washington Crossing the Delaware, Battle of Trenton, Battle of Princeton, Battle of Monmouth, and many more are covered. Thursday, July 30, 6:00 pmMurder Mystery Night is a night for solving a crime. Come individually or as a group to sort through the evidence and find the killer! A dossier of evidence, clues, and maybe some red herrings will be provided for your crime solving pleasure. A smart device will be required for this program as there are digital clues to follow. Social Work Program @ MCLSThe Mercer County Library System has begun a Social Work program to assist patrons with navigating social service organizations available at the local, county, and state level. Appointments with the social worker and a social work intern will soon be available at the Lawrence, Hightstown, Ewing, and Robbinsville branches. Please note that the social worker will not be providing clinical services.
