Capers and Heists

Capers and heists are a sub-genre of both mystery and crime fiction.  The twist is that instead of focusing on the detective, the protagonist is the perpetrator of the crime--usually a theft, swindle, or kidnapping.  Books of this type typically have elements of humor and cleverness, as well as a sense of adventure.

When you think of this genre you probably think of more films than books!  It's a popular genre in Hollywood.

Casa Azul

“Painted in blue, inside out, it seems to host a bit of sky. It is the typical house of small-town tranquility where good food and sleep give one enough energy to live without major problems and die peacefully…”
        ~Carlos Pellicer

Skip the line (and the plane ride!) and explore Caza Azul virtually.  Frida Kahlo's Blue House is left much like it existed in the 1950s after Friday Kahlo died.  Her husband, Diego donated it and turned it into the Frida Kahlo Museum.  Frida lived here all of her life.

Through a virtual visit you can begin to feel the ambiance that inspired Frida in her daily life and artistry.  Many of the rooms exhibit both her and Diego's paintings as well as popular art pieces, pre-Columbian sculptures, photographs, documents, books and furniture.
