Winter Reading Challenge

When the weather outside is frightful...curl up with a good book! This winter, youth from Kindergarten through grade 12 can track their reading and earn a free book when they finish. Log 300 minutes of reading between December 15 and January 31 to earn virtual badges and a free book. Log in or register today!

Toddler Tales
This lively program includes short books, rhymes, dancing, and interactive fun. Toddler Tales introduces your little one to library storytime in a friendly group setting and develops your child's early literacy skills with age and developmentally appropriate stories and activities.

Join us for an extra story, song, and fun activities that help develop the social/emotional, motor, language, literacy, and math skills your little learner needs to be ready for kindergarten.

Music & Movement
Come get the wiggles out at this high-energy program for early learners. Be prepared to move and groove at this hands-on program designed to be your child's introduction to music.
Children will learn rhythm, hand-eye coordination, balance, following directions, and more through songs, dance, parachute fun, and musical instruments.

Launch into Learning Play & Learn 
Playing is learning! Play is a great way to help develop and reinforce early literacy skills. This inclusive come-and-go program is designed to give caregivers and their children time to explore together. Toys, board books, and hands-on activities available each week.

Dungeons & Dragons
D&D is a fun role-playing adventure game where players create characters and make decisions, as the group is guided through a "choose your own adventure" style story.
Join us to slay dragons, make friends, and step into the shoes of a fantasy character for the afternoon. Bring your own character or use one of our pre-made characters to get started!
Snacks will be provided.

Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Community Library Network advocates for libraries as places to nurture and enhance lifelong learning.
 
This not-for-profit supports library programs, services, and resources for member enrichment in Athol, Harrison, Hayden, Pinehurst, Rathdrum, Spirit Lake, and the Bookmobile.
Stop by a meeting to learn more about the work of the Friends.

Hygiene Hamper
The Library Network has hygiene and toiletry items available for children, teens, and adults-
no questions asked.
Items include (but may vary by location): toothpaste, toothbrush, floss, body wash, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, comb, brush, socks, hats, mittens, hand warmers, diapers, diaper cream, chap stick, baby wipes, hand sanitizer, deodorant, and feminine pads.
 
The Hygiene Hampers are available through the generous donations of community members and grants from the Friends of the Library.
