It’s September – temperatures are getting cooler, and daylight is decreasing. Now is the perfect time to join a book club! Newcomers always welcome! Librarian led discussions feature a variety of authors, titles and genres on different days, locations, and times. Join the Breakfast Book Club at Hayden Library, Ladies Homestead Gathering Book Club at Post Falls, Classic Book Club at Harrison – there are so many options! Be sure to read each club’s unique description to find your perfect fit! Which would you prefer, “discussions tend to be fun, lively, and often get off on tangents!” or “jump into stimulating discussions and good reads with a fun and interactive group!” Community Library Network offers hundreds of fun, interactive, educational programs for adults each year. 626 programs were attended by 4,795 attendees (FY21-22). Western African Kora During the first week of September join us at any one of our locations to hear the dulcet tones of the West African Kora—but this isn’t just a concert, learn about the country and culture surrounding its creation and use too! Fit and Fall Proof Improve your mobility, balance and strength by joining one of our Fit and Fall Proof classes. They’re held regularly by the Rathdrum & Post Falls Library as well as by the Bookmobile (and coming soon to Athol!). Just don’t be surprised when the 93 year old turns out to be the strongest person in the class.

Coffee and Games Rathdrum Library will be hosting coffee and games on September 13th. They’ll be highlighting how to play Bridge this month—it’s an excellent opportunity to make new friends, meet other members of your community, and engage some of those strategic thinking and problem solving skills.
