Is it September already? It was a busy summer, thank you to everyone who participated in our Summer Reading Program & attended our Family Festival & Mobius Planetarium events! We're back to our Saturdays at the Library schedule of activities. Knit & nosh & The Inklings return after their summer hiatus on Wednesdays. As always, community events are posted above the Book Drop & Library events are posted just outside the front door. --Ani, Alisha, Emma, & Laura

West African Kora Friday, September 8, 2pm Sean Gaskell will present programs on the West African kora, a 21-string harp native to the Mandinka people of Gambia, Senegal, Mali, Guinea, and Guinea Bissau. Between songs, Sean will talk about the kora, how it is built, who typically plays it, and its cultural significance. For all ages.

Back to the Library Picture Book Party Saturday, September 9, 10:30am-noon Come see all of your friends back at the library! Join us for crafts, snacks, and activities celebrating some of your favorite book characters and the beginning of the fall programming session. Geared to ages 2-5.

Preschool StoryTimeTuesdays, September 12, 19, & 26, 10am Join Ms. Laura as she reads some fun tales & sings some catchy songs, followed by a little crafting & playtime! For ages 2-5.

Libratory Saturdays, September 9 & 16, 10-11am September 9: Family Libratory - Zoology Compare animal traits, learn about taxonomy, make
animal habitats, and explore animal specimens. September 16: Libratory - Art of origami We will make origami crafts and learn about its history and its country (or countries?) of origin! For kids (ages 3-8)

Young Authors Club (YAC)Saturdays, 2-3:30pm Different writing prompts or themes each week. Writing supplies & snacks provided.

Knit & nosh Wednesdays, 1-2pm All needle crafters are welcome. Master knitters are on hand to teach casting on/off. Bring your own supplies or use what we have on hand. Remember, a day without knitting in pointless.

The Inklings (aka Writing Club) Wednesdays, 2-3pm Join your fellow writers & scribblers for brainstorming, critiquing, writing prompts, & inspiration.

Classic Book Club - All quiet on the western frontWednesday, September 13, 11:30am-12:30pm Fiction Book Club - My grandmother asked me to tell you she's sorry Wednesday, September 27, 11:30am-12:30pm Interested? Ask Library staff for a copy.
