A certain staff member spent the New Year's weekend chipping away at this small pile of books while seated in a comfy recliner in front of a wood stove. There may or may not have been a purring/growling Blue Heeler nestled on her lap, but there was definitely hot tea! Some books were read, more were added... The personal librarian - an engaging fictional account of the financier J.P Morgan's personal librarian, a determined young woman of color, who went on to become the first director of the Morgan Library & Museum. Great read for book/art nerds. The call of the wild - a great, harrowing, lyrical adventure novel from the point of view of the dog. A quick read. The highway - book 2 in the Highway quartet. Suspenseful & fast-paced. The Netflix series Big Sky is based on this title. The tattooist of Auschwitz - a heartbreaking tale of love & survival. Based on a true story.
