 Playaway Edition

You may have listened to a book on CD in your car recently, but have you tried our playaways?  They're great for listening to a book when you're on the move, but no longer have that discman from the 90s.  They come in bright orange cases and all you need to make them work is a pair of headphones.  Then you press play and the story starts.

To find playaways in our catalog you'll see the title followed by the words [digital sound recording].  If you're looking for just playaways, you can use the filters on the left side of the catalog to click on "Playaway Audio Books."

Literary Reference Center

The Literary Reference Center can be accessed HERE.  It's a great resource to find full-text poems, short stories, and novels as well as synopses, critical essays, book reviews, author biographies and more.  It's an especially great resource for students and teachers.  In addition to the informational text it includes lesson plans and multi-media content so it's not just giant walls of text.  Another great feature is a citation tool that will help you create perfectly formatted bibliographic references.

If you're a critical reader, this is a great place to learn a little more and go a little deeper.
