The Golden Book Award Goes to Jill!! Jill was nominated by our Community Library Network Interim Director. ”She has guided Athol during COVID, changes in leadership, and with difficult staffing situations. All the while maintaining a positive attitude. She is appreciated and valued as a Community Library Network staff member.” We are very happy to have her on our library team. Alice in Wonderland Summer Reading Kickoff Party Tuesday, June 13th 11 am, Athol Library Kids of all ages are welcome to wander down the rabbit hole for fun and adventure. While there, sign up for summer reading to receive prizes all summer long.

Fishing Fun at Farragut State Park Friday, June 9th 1-3 pm, Sunrise Day Use On site will be librarians, park rangers, Idaho Fish & Game, Trout Unlimited and fishing trailer for kids to fish for free. Park pass required and adults will need current fishing license.

Fit and Fall Proof Class!Fridays, 1:15 – 2:15pm, June 9th - 30th, (no class on June 2nd) Tiffany leads the class in exercises that focus on improving strength, mobility, and balance to reduce risks of falling. Please join Tiffany as she instructs participants in learning simple exercises to increase strength, balance and endurance. We're never too old, or young, to work on strengthening our bodies!

ABC Garden Group! Thursday, June 1, 3:30pm – 5:30pm. The Group will be touring the Waterfowl Farm. In addition to touring the gardens, you’ll get a chance to meet the sheep, the cows, and the various fowl that are part of the Waterfowl Farm family. June is Pride Month! Pride Month is currently celebrated each year in the month of June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan. The purpose of the commemorative month is to recognize the impact that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals have had on history locally, nationally, and internationally.

Flag Day - June 14 On June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress approved the design of a national flag. In 1916 President Woodrow Wilson issued a presidential proclamation establishing a National Flag Day on June 14. Click on the link for the whole story.

Father’s Day, June 18, celebrates and honors the men who have embraced the essential role of fatherhood. Interestingly, the establishment of Father's Day originated in Spokane, WA by Sonora Smart Dodd. Who knew?
