Athol Library Welcomes a New Librarian! Tiffany joined the Community Library Network as a substitute librarian for Athol, Rathdrum and Spirit Lake libraries. We are happy and grateful to have her on board. She brings new ideas, a fun personality and much needed assistance to all of our teams. Come in to say hi and to welcome Tiffany.

Summer Reading at your Library! Begins Wednesday, June 1st. Read 15 days of the month to earn a prize. Each month you read 15 days, gets an entry for the grand prize drawings. Open to kids of all ages! Sign up online or at the library.

โA Pirateโs Life for Meโ Summer Reading Kickoff Party! Tuesday, June 14th from 10 am โ 12 pm. Join us as walk the plank, hunt for treasure, and dive into summer reading. Come prepared for food, challenges, games, and fun for the whole family. Be sure to sign up for summer reading while here. Kids of all ages are welcome.

Adult Summer Reading Bingo Begins June 1st Come in and pick up the June Bingo board and start reading! You can also participate in a fun Library Scavenger Hunt! Reading Bingo goes through August. Monthly prizes and grand prize drawings, too.

Foraging in the Inland NW, Wednesday, June 22 at 4:00pm. Adam Oberlander with the Inland Northwest Foraging group will speak about mushrooms, berries, and plants that are found in our neck of the woods. Learn how to identify, collect, and prepare the natural offerings of our area.

General Health and Lifestyle and Nutrition Saturday, June 24, 12:00pm Chris Murphy, from Humana Healthcare, will present useful information within these categories. Gain insight into topics that range from Healthy Sleep to Good foods for your gut. We can never know too much about how to be healthy!

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Also known as National Independence Day, it was signed into law by President Joe Biden on Thursday June 17th 2021. The celebration date varies by state; in Idaho 2022, we celebrate it on Monday, June 20th. Learn more about this period in our history that shaped and continues to influence our society today.

Father's Day, in the United States, holiday (third Sunday in June) to honour fathers. Credit for originating the holiday is generally given to Sonora Smart Dodd of Spokane, Washington, whose father, a Civil War veteran, raised her and her five siblings after their mother died in childbirth.
