Adult Programs
This Month our Adult Fiction Book Club features  The Evening Chorus 
by Helen Humphreys

This is a story of an RAF officer who spends much of the war in a German POW camp after being shot down during his first mission.  It's a story that includes intrigue, love, and a daring escape.  Join us on Thursday, January 26th at 6:30 pm and share your thoughts about this story.  Hope to see you there.  New members are always welcome.  Books are available at the front counter.
 
 
Our Non-Fiction Book Club presents Remember: the Science of Memory and the Art of Forgetting by Lisa Genova
 
This book looks into how we remember and why we forget and what we can do to protect our memories!  Join us on Friday, January 6th at 11:00 am. for an intriguing discussion.  Books are available at the front counter.  We look forward to seeing you there!

Join us on Thursday, January 19th at 4:00 pm for an immersive French experience where a topic is discussed in French. Recommended for children age 8 and up.  This program offers children the opportunity to learn and speak mostly in French. Nous espérons vous voir là-bas!

This month it's all about penguins!  Where do they live, what do they eat, what other animals prey on penguins, do they live in a family unit?  Join us to learn more about these fascinating animals!
Teen Bookish Club
Takes place Monday, January 9th
from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm
 
Talk about your favourite books while enjoying some yummy snacks.  Join us once a month to discuss what you're reading now and what genres you enjoy most.
Trial of Tales! Story-Writing Contest!
 
Submit your short story by Friday, February 10, 2023.  For children ages 9-13 years and youths ages 14-18 years. There will be a $50.00 prize and one winner for each age category.  See our Handout for more information and rules!
 
Story Time begins again on Thursday, January 12th at 10:30am
We will listen to stories, sing songs, practice rhymes together and make a craft!  Story Time will start again in the New Year on Thursday, January 12th at 10:30am.
