Homeschool families are invited to an outdoor game day! Enjoy a variety of fun games and activities. Come prepared to play outside and meet new friends. All ages are welcome! In case of bad weather, the event will be cancelled. Contact Joy at jfleishhacker@ppld.org with any questions.

Join Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and their animal ambassadors to learn the truth about some well-known animal myths. Can porcupines shoot their quills? Do cockroaches serve any purpose? After investigating these myths you’ll see wildlife in a whole new way! Ages 5 and up.

Are you interested in meeting new people, having new experiences, and networking with other homeschool families in the community? If the answer is yes, we invite you to hang out with us. Enjoy games and activities while spending time with friends — old and new! Registration required.

Are you ready to up your science fair game? This interactive workshop will help students work through the steps of turning a general idea into a science project; from topic selection, to formulating a testable question or design goal, to collecting data for analysis. Get a jump on planning for the Homeschool Science Fair in February 2025, which opens for registration on Thu., Jan. 2, 2025! This workshop is presented by the Pikes Peak Regional Science and Engineering Fair. Ages 7 and up. Registration required.
 
Registration for this program opens on Fri., Sept. 13. Please register each student who will be attending.

Where do you find belonging? September is National Library Card Sign-up Month and Pikes Peak Library District wants you to know that you belong at the Library! Libraries are community hubs filled with materials, resources, and programs to help everyone find belonging, from the youngest in our community to the oldest, and everyone in between. Looking for an educational and fun family activity this summer? The Educational Resource Center (ERC) at East Library provides engaging hands-on materials for families wanting to enrich their children’s education or help them improve their skills.
 
Families with students of all ages will enjoy using the math, science, social studies, and language arts kits, as well as art and music resources available at the ERC. Come in and play an educational game, create a cool construction out of KEVA planks, try your hand at Snap Circuits, or build a Cubelets robot.
