Come to the Library to learn about some of the local mushrooms
that you might find in your backyard!
Meet our speaker
Martin Osis is an amateur mycologist who is one of the founding members of the Alberta Mycological Society in 1987. Since that time, he has been a major contributor to the Society, holding various positions throughout the years, including President, Vice President, Program Director, Foray Coordinator, etc. He is a member of the Pacific Northwest Key Council and has been the Canadian trustee and Vice President of the North American Mycological Association. Because of his strong interest in medicinal mushrooms, Martin spearheaded the formation of NAMA’s Medicinal Mushroom Committee. His passion, humour, and ability to impart his knowledge to others has made him a speaker much in demand in promoting the science and fun that is mycology.
