Our annual trustee election and budget vote are next week, Thursday, September 7. Please come out and show your support for the library and its services by voting in the election. Every vote is important. Two incumbents, board president Shiela Dixon, and former vice president, Beth King, are running for four-year terms. A new candidate, Jeffrey Graf is also running. There will be three seats open on the board.
I was unable to write a Katie’s Corner for August because COVID finally caught up with me and I got a bad case. We have free COVID rapid tests at the library. Testing helps to prevent the spread of the virus.
We now have a seed library at the library! We have packets of seeds donated by Hudson Valley Seed Company and other local gardeners. Come in and take some seeds, or leave some for others to use.
We will hold a clothing swap November 11 and will collect clothes November 1-9 during library hours. Please save clothing that is clean and in good condition for this first ever swap at the library.

We will start another Reading and Discussion group this fall, stay tuned for the dates and times. The series is funded by Humanities New York and facilitated by Jeff Miller, professor of political sciences at SUNY New Paltz. The series will explore three aspects of our individual experience living in a community: collective action, free speech, and obedience to the law.
The next Friends of Rosendale Library meeting is Saturday, September 9th at 10am at Rosendale Library. Masks are required. Link for the Friends calendar page can be found here: http:/friendsofrl.org/events/
