The library is partnering with the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley this summer to provide breakfast and lunch meals for families in Rosendale. This is designed as a nutrition bridge to help families keep kids well fed during the summer. A bag of breakfast and lunch groceries can be picked up at the library each week during normal library hours. If you or a family you know could use these meals, please come by the library and request a summer meals bag. The program starts on Friday, July 9th.
Thursday, July 8, at 5:30 p.m. we are convening a new book club for those who enjoy graphic novels. The first book will be Almost American Girl, a tender coming of age story by Robin Ha. This group is aimed at teens and adults, but we welcome anyone who loves graphic novels. The group will be led by our new librarian Allison (a real graphic novel lover.) Sign up on our website.
If you are visiting a place where you will need wifi, check out one of our mobile hotspots. These small devices give you a wifi network that you can use for free wherever there is T-Mobile cell phone coverage. You can borrow a hotspot just like a bookâand keep it for 21 days. These hotspots (and data plans) are funded by the Friends of the Rosendale Library.
We were sad to learn that Michael Hines, a former library trustee, passed away in June. Mike served on the board for many years, and is fondly remembered for his service to the library. If you are interested in serving on the board of trustees, please contact the library. We are especially in need of people with skills in accounting, construction, or legal affairs.
We are really enjoying seeing people in person at the library!
