We hope to see you this Thursday, September 2, for the library budget vote and trustee election. Please show your support by exercising your right to choose how the library is funded and governed. There is more information about the election on the library’s website and at the library.
We have some exciting programs lined up for September including a local history presentation by the makers of the Lost Roundout film. Stephen Blauweiss and Karen Berelowitz combine their collection of thousands of rare historic photographs, postcards, and images-–from a wide variety of public and private archives–with years of extensive research into the lesser-known aspects of the Hudson Valley's rich and fascinating history, arts, and culture. They are coming out with a new book that they will preview at this photo talk.
We are welcoming some new staff members as our staff person, Sue L., has moved on to another job and our other Saturday person, Carol, has moved on as well. We wish them well in their new adventures. We have a new part-time librarian Shea, and new staff people, Laura and Kristina on Saturdays, as well as some new high school teens who will join the staff as Pages. Please introduce yourself and welcome them, we know they will each add something special to the library.
The next Friends of Rosendale Library meeting is Sept. 11th at 10am. Link for the Friends calendar page can be found here: http:/friendsofrl.org/events/
