From the midst of a good snowstorm we look toward the budding of March which is Women’s History Month. Taking time each month to deepen my knowledge or appreciation of a topic helps remind me how deep, troubling, and magnificent the world is, which I can lose sight of in my busy days. We will have a selection of books by and about women on display on our red book cart.
Thank you to all those who came out to our listening sessions. We are digesting what we heard and will be sharing it back out to the community soon along with our annual report to the community. We are heartened by all of the community members who came out to express their support for the library and its services. The library board is working to find a solution to the library’s space issues and appreciates the feedback we have received.
We are joining the Talking Book & Braille Library, a library of braille and audio materials that are delivered directly to the patron’s door. This free program is offered to those with visual, physical, and reading disabilities. The program includes audio books and magazines, audio players, downloadable books, braille books and magazines, titles for pre-K through adult, with free delivery and return of all materials. We have brochures at the library about how to enroll, and we will be getting equipment you can try out and borrow. Please help us spread the word.
The next Friends of Rosendale Library meeting is Saturday, March 11th at 10am at Rosendale Library. Masks are required. Link for the Friends calendar page can be found here: http:/friendsofrl.org/events/
