In case you missed last month’s e-news, the library is now fine free. In addition, the library board has elected to waive all fines incurred before January 1, 2022 from Rosendale. This means everyone can start with a clean slate.
In further good news, you can now access Consumer Reports and the New York Times online through our patron computers. If you are shopping for a big-ticket item like a new computer or appliance, you can search online and get the latest review. If you don’t have time to come into the library to search, email us or give us a call and we can do this research for you.
In the subject of newspapers, we also subscribe to the print versions of the NY Times and the Daily Freeman (as well as Hudson Valley One and Blue Stone Press). The Daily Freeman and NY Times are quite costly so we want to make sure people know we have them, and that we barcode the Sunday magazine so you can borrow it. We will also make a free copy of the crossword puzzle upon request.
We subscribe to a handful of print magazines such as The Atlantic, The New Yorker, and Hudson Valley Magazine. If there is a print magazine that you love and wish you could check out here, please let us know and we will consider subscribing.
You can now access electronic versions of nearly all the popular magazines through the Libby app. If you need help accessing this, please let us know and we will be happy to help you. You can use Libby on your computer at Libbyapp.com or download the app onto a portable device. You will need your library card and PIN. If you need help resetting your PIN, please call us. 845-658-9013.
We are starting to do in-person programs again this month, as always, with masks and distancing, and when possible we are offering hybrid in-person/virtual programs. We will offer two winter walks this month. We hope to see you in the library or on the trail.
