We are starting to add some interesting things to our collection for people to borrow. In November we had a Chinese brush painting workshop and people can now borrow a brush in order to practice. With the help of a grant we have purchased some Chromebooks that we are getting ready for circulation. You can borrow one like a book for three weeks. This month we will have a card-making workshop where participants can choose from a huge variety of rubber stamps and creative die cuts. The stamps and cutters are also in the process of being cataloged so that you can use them when you want. If you have other things you wish you could borrow, please let us know. We are looking forward to expanding our “library of things.”
We are excited for Frozendale, Saturday, December 4th where there will be loads of hats and other hand-crocheted items made by local residents for sale, as well as a gorgeous “sewn in Rosendale” quilt, and raffle baskets. You cannot shop more locally! We are so fortunate to have such dedicated Friends of the Library who create these special shopping opportunities, and contribute the revenue to making a better library for everyone. Thank you, Friends! All proceeds will help the Friends of the Library raise funds to build a screened gazebo for the library. The large rectangular gazebo will allow the library to offer programs and meetings in a safe, breezy space. Everyone who comes can take home a fresh baked cookie. As always, masks are required inside the library.
Throughout the month of December we will have cookbooks with holiday foods on display to help get everyone inspired to make something delicious to celebrate the season.
