  • Due to the scope of the work, including replacing the front entrance doors and slight modifications to our public restrooms, the Harris Branch will close temporarily beginning July 3.
  • The outside book return will still be open.
  • Visit one of our other MPHPL locations for full access to all our services.

MPHPL Receives NIPSCO Energy Efficiency Incentive Rebate

 The Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library is honored to receive A NIPSCO rebate
for recently conducted energy-efficient library projects.
  • NIPSCO representatives presented the $11,352.39 rebate at the MPHPL June board meeting.
  • MPHPL Director of Operations Dena Wargo, fourth from left, and Maintenance Manager Rick Rittenhouse, third from left, accepted the check on behalf of the Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library.
  • The rebate is for replacing an old boiler at the Mishawaka Library, adding new high efficiency replacement pipes & installing 1600+ feet of pipe insulation wrap at our three library locations.
  • “We continually look for ways to save tax dollars … saving on energy bills means more books for our patrons; conserving energy and getting a rebate for doing so is a win-win for everyone,” said Director Donna Meeks.

Visit Our Bittersweet Branch Courtyard this Summer

The courtyard at our Bittersweet Branch is the perfect oasis for
relaxing in a serene environment. 
  • The outdoor space provides a safe, fenced-in area with benches and umbrella seating. 
  • Patrons are welcome to bring a blanket and a picnic lunch and enjoy the beautiful area during regular hours of operation. 
  • Wi-Fi is available.  
  • The courtyard is accessible from inside the Bittersweet Branch through the Youth Services area.
  • Please note the courtyard area is open seasonally and weather permitting.

Join us Wednesday, July 12, at Ninja Golf! in Granger for Ninja Golf! Storytime!
  • Our MPHPL Community Engagement team will provide two 30-minute storytime sessions.
  • Each half-hour session will consist of reading ninja-themed books and fun activities.
  • Guests can attend the 1-1:30 p.m. afternoon session or the 6-6:30 p.m. evening session.
  • Ninja Golf! is an upscale Japanese Garden-Style miniature golf destination and is located at 12080 Adams Road, Granger, IN 46530.
