Mishawaka Library Hosts
Mishawaka Business Association's December After Hours Event
Business After Hours Mishawaka Library Wed., Dec. 7 | 4-6 p.m.
 The MBA December After Hours event will take place 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, December 7!

FREE Activities Include:  
  • Cookie decorating in the new Makerspace
  • Popcorn and light refreshments in the Eisen Room
  • Heritage Room tours with Mishawaka historian laureate Peter De Kever
  • MPHPL products and services demonstrations in the Spencer Gallery
  • Roz Puppets Holiday Shows (4 p.m., 4:45 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.) in the Youth Activity Room
    * Free tickets required and available now at the Mishawaka Library Youth Services desk on a  first-come, first-served basis. As of Dec. 1 all tickets for the 4 p.m. show have been claimed. 
Plus, when you tour the Heritage Room, you can enter to win this
Mishawaka-themed gift basket pictured below - valued at $250!
 
MPHPL Closing at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 14
The Mishawaka Library and the
Bittersweet Branch will close at
1 p.m. for a MPHPL
staff in-service. 
  • The Harris Branch is closed all day Wednesday, as usual.
     
  • MPHPL apps are available 24/7 to all MPHPL cardholders.

Celebrate Winterfest with MPHPL and the Community 
The Mishawaka Parks and Recreation Department will host Winterfest
Saturday, December 3 from 5-10 p.m. 
 
  • The Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library is excited to be participating in this year's festivities!
  • Our MPHPL Community Engagement staff will be on hand to pass out holiday crafts, our latest program guide and holiday cheer!
  • The event features the annual tree lighting, free ice skating, hot cocoa, visits with Santa, a bonfire, horse-drawn carriage rides and much more! 
  • Winterfest will take place at 330 Ironworks Ave., near the Mishawaka Riverwalk.
  • Make sure to stop by our MPHPL table to see us and say hi!

Mark Your Calendar for the MPHPL Winter Reading Challenge 
Everyone is welcome to take part in the Winter Reading Challenge
January 3 through February 28!
  • This year's challenge card will be revealed Monday, December 19! Check out our social media platforms and our Winter Reading Challenge webpage on or after this date for more information. 
  • Participants will be able to download a challenge card or visit any location to pick one up.
  • Participation is easy - all you have to do is read. Books, comics, magazines, newspapers, audiobooks, eBooks - choose what works best for you to complete each challenge square!
  • Return your completed card for a new book of your choice and an automatic entry for our special prize drawing.
Join us at the Harris Branch for our Annual Winter Wonderfest Celebration
You and your family are invited to attend Winter Wonderfest at the Harris Branch Tuesday, December 13 from 4:30-7:15 p.m.
  • Hot cocoa will be provided as well as a festive take-n-make craft!  
  • Silly Safaris, Inc. will be bringing a real reindeer for a special meet-and-greet on the courtyard patio!
  • Family photos will be taken and posted on our MPHPL Facebook page at the end of the evening.

 Understanding Mental Health is More Important Now Than Ever Before
Whether you are a parent, a health professional, or someone who keeps up with
current events, you have likely heard about the mental health crisis in the U.S.
  • Join us December 20 from 6-7:30 p.m. at our downtown Mishawaka Library as health experts with Mental Health Awareness of Michiana present Understanding Mental Health. 
  • The local organization strives to educate the community about mental health topics that are important at every stage of life.
  • This event is for adults, and registration is required.
