Free Unlimited Access for All MPHPL Cardholders Begins May 2 
Starting this Monday, all MPHPL cardholders will have free live 
online help every day from 2-11 p.m. with three new platforms.  
  • Brainfuse HelpNow - provides tutoring for learners of all ages 
  • Brainfuse JobNow - provides job search and career support  
  • Brainfuse VetNow - provides veterans and their families with benefits, employment, healthcare and housing help 
Look for live links on our website and social media channels (linked at the bottom
of the newsletter) to post on the launch day - May 2! 
The end of the school year means finals and projects are due! But don't worry,
all MPHPL cardholders will be able to connect for free live help via HelpNow!
  • Live Tutoring: Designed to help students in grades K-12.
  • Live Homework Help: Expert tutors in math, science, social studies and English - plus writing and reading assistance tutors available online 7 days a week from 2-11 p.m. 
  • Skills-Building: Master an academic concept through standards-aligned expert tutoring.
  • 24/7 Help Center: Submit a question, and a tutor will provide you with a response (usually within 24 hours).
  • Foreign Language Lab: Expert assistance and support for students learning a foreign language.
  • Live Writing Assistance: Connect with an online tutor for expert writing assistance.
  • Intensive Writing Lab: For a more thorough analysis, submit your paper and within approximately 24 hours, receive a detailed word choice, sentence fluency and organization analysis.
HelpNow goes live on Monday, March 2 - all you need is a valid
MPHPL library card to use this new online platform! 
Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library Will Be Closed Monday, May 30 
All MPHPL library locations will be closed Monday, May 30, in observance of Memorial Day. 
  • More than 35 digital resources are available to all MPHPL cardholders.
     
  • MPHPL digital databases and digital apps are always open 24/7 to explore
    free of charge.

Take Our Upcoming MPHPL Patron Survey & Be Entered to Win a $100 Gift Card
MPHPL is in the process of planning our next five year, long-range plan
for the growth of our libraries and your input truly matters.
  • Whether you visit our libraries, take part in our programs, are a current MPHPL library card holder or not (but live in Penn or Harris township) - your opinion matters to us! 
  • The survey link, www.mphpl.org/survey will open live on Monday, May 2. 
  • Five survey takers will randomly be selected to receive a $100 gift card to a location of their choice.
  • To be entered in the gift card drawing all you have to do is provide your email address at the end of the survey. 
  • One survey per person. 
  • The survey concludes Saturday, June 4.

Chef Laquisha Jackson is our May MPHPL Fabulous Foodies Event Guest  
Our new 2022 Fabulous Foodies series caters to both in person and online attendees! 
  • MPHPL is honored that Chef Jackson brings her kitchen to the Mishawaka Library in May.
  • Professional Chef Laquisha Jackson is the owner of Soulful Kitchen LLC, a catering company in South Bend.
  • The Fabulous Foodies event will be held on Tuesday, May 24, from 6:30-7:15 p.m. at the Mishawaka Library. 
  • The Fabulous Foodies theme for the May event will be salads. 
  • Participants will be given a recipe organizer, learn about different dishes and receive new recipes.
  • Registration is required to attend Fabulous Foodies in person or online. 
                                                     
Registration is Open for May MPHPL Programs
Due to the unpredictability of Covid, programs may be canceled or moved to a virtual format.

It is Almost MPHPL Summer Reading Challenge Time
This year's MPHPL Summer Reading Challenge officially
runs from May 31 through July 30.  
  • All ages can take part!
  • The challenge card will be revealed on May 16 on our MPHPL website and social media channels linked at the bottom of this newsletter.
  • You set your own reading goal and tracking what you read on the challenge card is optional.
  • Any reading counts toward your personal summer goal.  
  • Save the date -  May 16, you will be able to download the challenge card online or stop by MPHPL to pick up a card in person at any service desk!
  • Everyone who completes the challenge and returns their card by July 30 receives a new book!
