The Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library is excited to
welcome you back to the Harris Branch Monday, October 2.
  • Doors will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. - all are welcome.
  • Light refreshments will be served throughout the day - no registration is needed.
  • Children’s Crafts will be available all day long in the Treehouse.
  • Teen Gaming for students in grades six through 12 takes place from 5-6 p.m.
  • Special Elephant & Piggie appearances and Balloons with Mr. Derek sessions are scheduled at specific times throughout the day.
  • Magician Kevin Wilson will perform from 5-7 p.m.

Calling all teachers, youth clubs and groups: Now is the time to book your
MPHPL Youth Services Tours and Class Visits at the MPHPL location of your choice. 
 
  • Students will get a tour of the MPHPL Youth and Teen areas. 
  • They learn all about free MPHPL programs, services and digital resources.
  • Librarians will demonstrate how to take care of books properly.
  • Students will learn how they and their families can obtain a library card.
  • Visits must be booked at least two weeks in advance, arranged on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to staff and room availability.
  • Call to schedule and customize your class visit!

Our MPHPL Community Engagement team can’t wait to see you at the
Mishawaka Education Foundation's Trunk or Treat to kick off the Halloween season!
  • The event will be held in the Mishawaka High School parking lot, 1202 Lincolnway East, from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, October 7.
  • Dozens of local businesses and organizations will be on hand to pass out goodies.
  • Last year, close to 3,000 children attended last year.
  • Costumes are encouraged.

Greenhouse Storytime at the MEF Community Greenhouse

Join us Monday, October 16, at the MEF Community Greenhouse from
5:30-6:30 p.m. for a special pumpkin-themed Storytime!
  • The Mishawaka Education Foundation Community Greenhouse is located at the corner of Broadway and Marion Street in Mishawaka.
  • Stories will center around fall goodies grown in the community garden.
  • This special Storytime is made possible thanks to our partnership with the Mishawaka Parks and Recreation Department.
  • No registration is necessary to attend.

Frightful Friday Is Set for October 20 at the Downtown Mishawaka Library

Halloween is right around the corner, and we have a huge lineup of events
Friday, October 20, for you and your little ones!
  • Attend the morning (10 a.m.-noon) or afternoon session (3-5 p.m.).
  • A spooky but not too spooky Storytime will occur from 10-10:20 a.m. and 3-3:20 p.m.
  • Children’s Crafts are scheduled for 10-11:30 a.m. and 3-4:30 p.m.
  • Roz Puppets will provide a 30-minute presentation at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
  • Registration is required, and the show links above open live Oct. 9 and close Oct. 20 at 9 a.m. or when full.
  • Information regarding show ticket redemption will be sent to registrants.
  • Trick or Treat Around the Library will happen at 11 a.m.-Noon and 4-5 p.m.
  • Adult caregivers must directly supervise participants 9 years of age and younger; caregivers must be on the premises for participants 10-11 years of age.

Grab some friends and testing your knowledge at Frightful Films Trivia Night at the downtown Mishawaka Library from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday the 13th! 😱
  • Questions will cover classic and modern horror films as well as beloved family favorites.
  • Teams must have between 2-6 members.
  • A small prize will be awarded to the winning team.
  • Registration required and limited to 15 teams.
