National Library Week is the First Full Week in April
The week is a time to celebrate our nation's libraries, library workers' contributions and promote library use and support.
Actress, comedian and legendary Saturday Night Live cast member Molly Shannon is this year's National Library Week Honorary Chair.
National Library Week was first recognized in 1958. The week is sponsored by the American Library Association and observed by libraries across the country each April.
The theme for National Library Week 2022, "Connect with Your Library," promotes the idea that libraries are places to get connected to technology and resources.
In addition to books, libraries offer opportunities to connect through attending programs, free Wi-Fi or by using online resources or apps.
Equally important, libraries also connect community members to their communities. Overall, this year's theme is a call to action - an invitation for community members to join, visit or advocate for your library.
Register Your Little One for a Special National Library Week Storytime
Monday, April 4, from 11-11:45 a.m. at the Mishawaka Library!

Show Your Support for MPHPL and Make a Donation on Library Giving Day
National Library Giving Day is a donation driven campaign that encourages people all over the country to donate to their local library system.
The Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library inspires and empowers our community by connecting patrons to literature, information, ideas and new experiences for lifelong enrichment.
Every dollar you donate will help us strengthen our local community and transform lives.
Your donations will go directly toward the purchase of books for kids as part of our annual Summer Reading Challenge and additional summer programming for the entire community.
Donating online is safe, easy and can be done by using your PayPal account, debit or credit card.
You can also visit any of our libraries and donate in person.
Please consider supporting the Mishawaka-Penn-Harris Public Library this Library Giving Day by making a tax-deductible donation on or before April 6 by visiting MPHPL's donation page.
