Photograph of a monarch caterpillar chewing on a leaf in the library garden

Hello, and Happy Friday!

One of the things we are most excited about with our new extended opening hours is the opportunity to welcome new patrons into our library. We didn't expect, however, for a number of those patrons to be monarch caterpillars!

If you look carefully at the plants by the library entrance, you might be lucky enough to see a large number of these caterpillars munching upon some tasty green leaves.

How many can you spot? Let us know!

Seeking Electric Vehicle Owners for Library Event!

Do you own an electric vehicle, and are you available on the evening of September 25th?

As part of Climate Prep Week, we are hosting an event here with a speaker or two about incentives to buy, what charging is like and what is generally involved as an owner of an EV.

Afterwards we are hosting a show 'n' tell of electric vehicles in the parking lot. If you are willing to bring your EV here, you could show it off to folks who are curious about EV ownership and answer any questions they might have.

Please contact Kira at the library if you're interested - kwilliams@cwmars.org

Come join other local writers for a fun, laid-back evening of writing. We will work from prompts and have some open-ended writing time, and there will be a chance to share your creations if you so choose.

This community-organized event takes place on Thursday, September 12th, at 6:30 p.m. in the library's meeting room.
