  • Make It Tuesday, November 5 & 19, 4:30PM | Main Library. Bring your own project and materials. Limited instruction available. All fiber crafts welcome.
  • Doing Death Differently: Circle of Remembrance Wednesday, November 6, 6PM | Main Library. An Alameda-based death doula will guide us in creating an open-hearted space for honoring those whom we have loved and lost.
  • Alameda Writers' Group Saturday, November 9, 1PM | Main Library. We provide 5 short prompts for your choosing for warm-up or inspiration. Join us in person or on Zoom.

  • Teen Advisory Board Tuesday, November 5, 4:30PM | Main Library. Are you a teen in 7th-12th grade? Do you want to share your interests and help with library projects? If yes, then why not join the Teen Advisory Board (TAB)? You can gain valuable experience and earn volunteer hours as a member.
  • Teen Book Club Wednesday, November 6, 4PM | Main Library. Teens choose what we read each month. Free copies of the book while supplies last. Next up: Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Garber.

Special Programs at Main:
  • Science Wonders Workshop Saturdays, 3PM | Main Library.  Join the Science Wonders Workshop! This program is presented as a series of 3 weeks. Each program is from 3-4pm on a Saturday. Participants will be enrolled to the group that fits their age group of 6-8 yrs or 9-11 yrs. Participants MUST attend all 3 dates. Registration Required.
  • Family Movie Matinee Sunday, November 10, 2PM | Main Library. Join us for a sensory-friendly, family focused movie matinee! November selection: Despicable Me 4.

Bay Farm Island Branch Library:
  • BFI: Police Storytime November 4 &14, 10:30AM | Bay Farm Island Branch Library. Please join us for a special storytime at the Bay Farm Island Library featuring a City of Alameda police officer! Children of all ages and their parents/caregivers are welcome.
  • BFI: Build with LEGO Every Thursday, 3:30PM | Bay Farm Island Branch Library. We will provide the LEGO building blocks. Use your imagination and creativity! 
  • BFI: Petit Picassos Art Camp Saturday, November 16,1PM | Bay Farm Island Branch Library. Kids in kindergarten through third grade are invited to attend this innovative camp! The theme is Fall into Fall and Ms. Stephanie will offer a diverse creative experience that includes crafting lessons, reading comprehension, and open ended artful play sessions. Space is limited! West End Branch Library:
  • WEB: Musical Performance Tuesday, November 12, 6PM | West End Branch Library. Join us for a wonderful evening of music at the West End Library. We will be hosting a small group of local guitar students and their instructor who will be playing music from various composers.
  • WEB: Family Storytime with Author Sarah Collins-Bride Monday, November 18, 7PM | West End Branch Library. Author Sara Collins-Bride will be reading her book Caboodle the Cat: Moving to a New Home. Following the reading, Sara will be answering questions about Caboodle and her book. We will also be creating a special craft to take home.
  • WEB: Police Storytime Tuesday, November 19, 10:30AM | West End Branch Library. Join us for a Special Toddler Storytime at the West End Library. A member of the Alameda Police Department will be joining us and participating in the fun! A good time will be had by all!
  • WEB: Firefighter Storytime Tuesday, November 26, 10;30AM | West End Branch Library. Join the West End Library for a special storytime! A member of the Alameda Fire Department will be joining us.
