Glass Houses
Madeline Ashby
A masterful near future whodunit for fans of Glass Onion and Black Mirror. Join a stranded start-up team led by a terrifyingly realistic charismatic billionaire, a deserted tropical island, and a mysterious AI-driven mansion as the remaining members disappear one by one. A group of employees and their CEO, celebrating the sale of their remarkable emotion-mapping-AI-algorithm, crash onto a not-quite-deserted tropical island. Luckily, those who survived have found a beautiful, fully-stocked private palace, with all the latest technological updates (though one without connection to the outside world). The house, however, has more secrets than anyone might have guessed, and a much darker reason for having been built and left behind. Kristen, the hyper-competent ‘chief emotional manager’ (i.e., the eccentric boyish billionaire-CEO Sumter's idea of an HR department) is trying to keep her colleagues stable throughout this new challenge, but staying sane seems to be as much of a challenge as staying alive. Being a woman in technology has always meant having to be smarter than anyone expects and Kristen's survival skills are more impressive than anyone knows.

The Third Wife of Faraday House
B. R. Myers
November 1816: Restless but naive Emeline Fitzpatrick is desperate to escape her stifling life in foggy Halifax. Her guardian is lining up repugnant suitors, but Emeline has her eyes set on a lieutenant in the British Navy. She just needs to persuade him to propose, or her one chance at happiness will be gone forever. But when Emeline’s hopes end in scandal, she finds herself with only one suitor left -- the wealthy and enigmatic Captain Graves. Having already lost two wives to tragic circumstances, the widower is seeking a new companion in his cloistered seaside manor Faraday House. Or at least that is what Emeline has been told, because when she arrives, she is horrified to discover that the second Mrs. Graves, Georgina, is still alive though fading fast. Emeline is only certain of two things. Something ghastly is afoot at Faraday House, and no one is going to save her. She will have to rely on her own courage, her burgeoning bond with Georgina, and the aid of a handsome reverend with a mysterious past to shed light on a ghostly truth.

Hera Jennifer Saint
Even the gods must have their queen. When the immortal goddess Hera and her brother Zeus overthrow their tyrannical father, she dreams of ruling at his side. But as they establish their reign on Mount Olympus, Hera begins to see that Zeus is just as ruthless and cruel as the father they betrayed. While Zeus ascends, Hera is relegated to the role of wife and mother, a role she never wanted. She was always born to rule, but must she lose herself in perpetuating this cycle of violence and cruelty? Or can she find a way to forge a better world? In this enthralling retelling, Greek mythology's most famous and maligned goddess finally tells her own story, as power, passion, and divine strength collide in the heart of Olympus. |

The Bookshop of Hidden Dreams Karen Hawkins
When an antique tin of love letters is found, historian Tay Dove returns to her hometown to investigate. Reeling from a romantic betrayal, Tay hopes to distract herself by writing a biography about her famous great-great-grandmother Sarafina Dove, who became a star reporter in the late 1890s. Tay believes the letters could be the key to understanding why Sarafina left Dove Pond so abruptly, but the missives only add to Tay's questions, especially when they reveal a forbidden love affair with William Day, a notorious train robber. Some answers might be found in eighty-two-year-old Rose Day's bookshop and town archive, but Rose is curiously reluctant to give Tay access. Just when Tay thinks she's reached a dead end, she finds an unlikely ally in Rose's grandson Luke, a fellow puzzle lover. Together they set out to uncover what happened and find a love story that could be more precious than gold.
