Drag Queen Story Time Friday, June 3 (PD Day) 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.IN-PERSON A fabulous drag queen dramatically teaches us about diversity, reads books, and shares some tunes. Drag is an opportunity for all ages to reconsider the masks we are all forced to wear daily. Through dress-up, we help children see uniqueness without confusion or awkwardness. The drag queen population is frequently misrepresented, underrepresented or hidden by society. Kids Yoga and MindfulnessTuesday, June 7 and 14 4:45 - 5:30 p.m. IN-PERSON Follow along as certified Yoga Teacher, and Life Coach Nancy Cox leads a fun and kid-friendly introduction to yoga and mindfulness. Nancy has been practicing yoga for 30 years and teaching for nearly 10. She is passionate about helping children regulate their emotions and infuses her practice with Brain Gym to help kids cope with stress, be calm and focused, and energized. Classes will include a warm-up, poses, and meditation. Ages 5+ register. Bring a yoga mat or towel.

Music and Storytime Tuesdays 10:15 - 11:00 a.m. IN-PERSON Listen to your favourite books, sing tunes and play along with instruments. Children select picture books from the library collection before the program and then bring them to read; the number of books read depends on time. Miss Lesley has a variety of percussion instruments for the kids to play along with and join in. Formerly Instruments in Storytime; new name, same great program!

Paws to Read Thursday, June 9 and 16 6 - 7:30 p.m. IN-PERSON. Children who read aloud to therapy dogs or shelter cats on a regular basis demonstrate drastic improvement in their reading skills! Animals provide a safe, non-judgmental presence for struggling readers.

ONLINE - In this multi-week online virtual workshop, instructed by professional animator Leon Arispunander, a Social Media animation project will be introduced using Blender 3D animation software. The goal will be for students to learn how to create a short animation for social media.
