The novel explores powerful themes about the importance of intergenerational storytelling, our complicated relationship with the environment, and how to prepare for an unknown future. Andrew Krivak has shared how Mt. Monadnock inspired the book’s setting, making The Bear a timely, local choice for our statewide read. On Thursday, September 28 at 10:30 a.m. at the Londonderry Senior Center, Leach Library staff will facilitate a book discussion on Andrew Krivak’s The Bear. An evening book discussion will be offered at Leach Library on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 6:30 p.m. Registration is required for the book discussion sessions and opens on Monday, August 21.
