Hello Leach Library patrons, We are so lucky that this is a community that values and loves their library! I wanted to share a couple of ways that you can get involved at your local library. If you are interested in becoming a trustee and supporting the library mission, then I encourage you to run when an open position is available. You can also attend monthly Board of Trustee meetings and share your comments or concerns during public comment. Meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month and start at 7:00 p.m. in the meeting room on the lower level of the library. During budget season, you can also support the library at Town budget meetings. Town departments including the library will be presenting their budgets for fiscal year 2024-2025 on Saturday, November 4 starting at 9:00 a.m. at Town Hall.

If you are interested in becoming a Friend of the Library and volunteering your time at fundraising events, book sales, and programs, then I encourage you to pick up an application and join today. The next meeting is on Monday, November 13 at 1:00 p.m. at the library. All are welcome. If you are unable to volunteer your time as a trustee or friend, there are other ways you can help your library: visit the library, sign up for a library card, borrow physical or digital materials, check out a museum pass, attend a program, use library computers and databases, take advantage of our reference services, purchase an item from the book sale, or tell a friend about library services and programs. All of this helps us communicate the value of your library. Sincerely, Erin Matlin Library Director
