Reimagining School Readiness
New publications and a Toolkit related to an early engineering approach, Think, Make, Try® were recently released! The findings and many of the Toolkit materials are complimentary to Reimagining School Readiness (e.g., more conversation starter signs) and can be incorporated in some of the recommendations for STEM/STEAM programming. The publications (a literature review and an educator resource guide) as well as the full Toolkit (which includes 10+ activities that can be done with easy to find or recycled materials) on our website under “resources” or here: https://bayareadiscoverymuseum.org/think-make-try

2023 ALSC Summer Reading Lists ALSC's Quicklists Consulting Committee has updated its Summer Reading Lists with new and exciting titles for 2023!
The lists are full of book titles to keep children engaged in reading throughout the summer. Four Summer Reading lists are available for birth-preschool and grades K-2, 3-5 and 6-8. Each list is available here to download for free. Titles on the 2023 Summer Reading Lists were compiled and annotated by members of ALSC’s Quicklists Consulting Committee.
ALSC reading lists are created as a resource for children's librarians to share with patrons. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to explore these titles to find resources that may match or spark their child's interest.
