Book Fest Packed Full of Fun How much fun can you pack into one half hour?
Visit Rodman Public Library from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. for Book Fest every Thursday between June 9 and July 14 and find out. Intended for kids of all ages, the six-week run of Book Fest will include lots of laughs on June 16 and June 23 when RPL's own children's librarians will provide skits, music and dancing, trivia, and interactive stories. Special guests are slated to visit RPL on the other dates.

Be a Marine Biologist at The Branch This Summer Children attending Storytime at the Rodman Branch Library will go on an adventure each week as marine biologists. Beginning Wednesday, June 8, children ages 3 and up will explore a different aquatic creature each week through Wednesday, July 27 as part of RPL's Oceans of Possibilities summer reading program. Storytime at the Branch sessions will be held each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. The 45-minute sessions will include songs, stories and a different activity each week. Each storytime will conclude with a short video highlighting the sea animal of the day.

Tuesday is Play Day at Rodman Library Tuesdays during the summertime means playtime for Rodman Public Library's littlest patrons. Starting on June 7 and running through July 26, a play group will be offered from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays inside the Rodman Main Auditorium. Recommended for children, age birth through 5 years, the group will give parents and caregivers the opportunity to socialize with others.

Get Ready for RPL's 2022 Summer Art Experience Get ready for the 2022 Summer Art Experience with Rodman Public Library. Open to children ages 6-13, kids can choose to take part in either a virtual experience or in-person classes.

RPL Plans Summer Movie Series Rodman Public Library will host a Summer Movie Series in 2022, showing a family movie each month -- on June 6, July 12 and August 1 -- on the big screen in the Main Auditorium. In conjunction with the Oceans of Possibilities summer reading program, all three films will have an ocean theme.

Play Family BINGO at RPL in June and July Rodman Public Library will host two Family BINGO games this summer. Patrons of all ages are invited to play from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, June 27. Another game will be held Monday, July 25. Both events are free and prizes will be given out, but space is limited and registration is required. For more information,

Pi in the Sky is June Kids Book Club Selection Rodman Public Library invites children, ages 8-12, to join the Kids Book Club, which meets on the third Wednesday of each month.
Pi in the Sky by Wendy Mass is the selected title for the June 15 meeting. Led by Stacy Digianantonio, Kids Book Club meetings include a brief discussion of the book, a fun activity and a snack. Kids Gaming Kids Gaming is held on the first Wednesday of each month at Rodman Public Library in the Main Library Auditorium. From 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., children, ages 8-12, are treated to open play of video games, Minecraft, etc. on devices provided by the library. The next session is Wednesday, June 1. Kids Crafting Children, ages 6-12, are invited to Rodman Public Library at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 16 to create bottled sand art. Animal Crossing Cafe The Animal Crossing Café will be open inside Rodman Auditorium from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 18. Patrons of all ages are invited to bring in their Nintendo Switch and Animal Crossing game and socialize with others who play the game while enjoying refreshments provided by the library.
To make best use of their time, patrons are encouraged to have their game updated. While hanging out, those attending can visit Rodman Public Library's island as well as others. No registration is required. For more information, call 330-821-2665, ext. 223.

"Avo-Kiddo" is Branch Take and Make in June Starting Wednesday, June 1, children can stop by the Rodman Branch Library to pick up an "Avo-Kiddo" craft and make project. All supplies for the craft are included as well as step-by-step instructions, thanks to Friends of Rodman Public Library.
