RPL has Levy on November Ballot Voters who reside in the Alliance and Marlington school districts will see a renewal levy for Rodman Public Library on their ballots for the November 8 election. There are no new taxes associated with the levy that accounts for 35 percent of the library's operating budget.

Sarah Miller is RPL's October Fogle Author
Sarah Miller, the author of six released works with two more on the way this fall, will visit Rodman Public Library as part of the Fogle Author Series at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 29. A prolific writer of both fiction and nonfiction, Miller shared some remarks about her work and her process as a writer ahead of her visit, offering one word of advice for aspiring writers. That one word was "Read."

Get to 'Know Your Food' October 3 Rodman Public Library invites patrons to get to know their food a little better from the inside out when Holly Bandy of the Ohio State University Extension’s College of Food, Agriculture and Environmental Science, presents "Know Your Food" at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, October 3. Attendees will also have the opportunity to sample a healthy treat made from in-season produce following a cooking demonstration. The event is free, but space is limited and registration is required. Books and Coffee The Books and Coffee Book Club usually meets every second Monday of the month at the Rodman Branch Library. Led by Charlene Duro, the next book club meeting will be on Monday, October 10 when the selected title will be The Woman They Could Not Silence: One Woman, Her Incredible Fight for Freedom and the Men Who Tried to Make Her Disappear by Kate Moore. True Crime JunkiesThe True Crime Junkies, a book discussion group led by reference librarian Ashley Mock, meets at 6:30 p.m. every third Tuesday of the month at the Main Library. The selection for the October 18 meeting is Chase Darkness With Me: How One True-Crime Writer Started Solving Murders by Billy Jensen. Maker Monday Maker Monday crafters will create a pumpkin candy dishes from terracotta pots when they meet Monday, October 17 at 7:00 p.m. in Rodman Public Library's Main Auditorium. Led by Nicole Brown, Maker Monday is an in-person craft program for adults that is held monthly on select Mondays. Alliance Vinyl Club Alliance Vinyl Club will be doing some spooky spinning during its October meeting. The club, which is open to all music lovers, will feature Halloween-themed music when it gathers at Rodman Public Library on Wednesday, October 26 at 6:30 p.m.. Those attending are encouraged to bring in some of their favorite records to share with others. Alliance Vinyl Club, which usually meets every fourth Wednesday of the month, provides the opportunity to listen to music, talk and hang out, and make new friends. No registration is required.
