The Children's Blizzard is Full of Human Drama
Melanie Benjamin, author of The Children's Blizzard, the 2023 One Book One Community selection, describes her novel as "Little House on the Prairie for grownups." The book, based on a true event that happened on January 12, 1888, is full of twists and turns that will keep readers captivated as its characters navigate a freak blizzard. "I think it’s a survival novel, for sure – something like Jack London, man against nature," says Benjamin, “But it’s also full of human drama and the power of love and forgiveness."

Wanted are the front of cards that have no writing on the backside. Cards that are not fit to be turned into postcards will be used for a library craft project next year.
