Wilderness Center to Discuss Eclipse On April 8, a solar eclipse, will occur and Alliance is close to the area of totality. On Wednesday, March 27 at 6 p.m., an astronomy educator from the Wilderness Center will visit RPL and explain to young patrons why eclipses happen, and how to safely view this eclipse. Registration is required.

Three OBOC Events Slated This Month
Three One Book One Community events will take place in March, including two American Sign Language educators sharing their experiences as well as the visit by author Lynne Kelly.

Make a Mug Pie on Pi Day Patrons ages 10-18 are invited to celebrate Pi Day on Thursday, March 14 by making a pie at Rodman Public Library. At 4 p.m., the youngsters will gather in the Main Auditorium to create a microwave mug pie to enjoy at the library. Following the program, participants will be given their own mug to take home. The program is free, thanks to support from the Friends of Rodman Public Library. No registration is required, but supplies are limited so the program is first come, first served. Book Club Meets March 20 Rodman Public Library invites children,
ages 8-12, to join the Kids Book Club, which meets on the third Wednesday of each month. Three-Ring Rascals: The Show Must Go On! by Kate Kllise is the selected title March 20 meeting Registration is required for each session, which includes a brief discussion of the book, a fun activity and a snack.

Kids Gaming Kids Gaming is held on the first Wednesday of each month at Rodman Public Library in the Main Library Auditorium. From 4 to 5 p.m., children, ages 8-12, are treated to open play of video games, Minecraft, etc. on devices provided by the library. The next session is Wednesday, March 6. Lego Lab Rodman Public Library’s Lego Lab will feature a mini-golf party. The program, intended for children ages 6-12, will be held, Wednesday, February 13 from 6 to 7 p.m. when each participant will design a hole and then the group will play a round. The March Lego Lab is the final session of the winter season and program will take a break with a planned return this fall. The program is free, thanks to Friends of Rodman Public Library. Kids Crafting Rodman Public Library’s monthly Kids Crafting program continues at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 14 when children, ages 7-12, are invited to come to the Main Library and decorate wooden eggs All materials used during monthly kids crafting programs are provided for free thanks to the Friends of Rodman Public Library. Branch Take and Make During March, children can stop by the Rodman Branch Library to pick up an I Love Reading necklace take and make project. All supplies for the craft are included as well as step-by-step instructions, thanks to Friends of Rodman Public Library. Supplies are limited and will be given out at a first come, first served basis.

Hot Pots Storytime Spring is the theme for Hot Pots Storytime in March. Two sessions will be held, including Wednesday, March 6 at 6:30 p.m. and another on Saturday, March 9 at 11 a.m. Children, ages 3-12, are invited to come to the Branch for a mini storytime and then proceed to Hot Pots, accompanied by their guardian, to paint a bunny egg holder and chick egg. The cost is $15 per child and registration is required. The fee for the event is payable to Hot Pots upon registration at hotpotspottery.com.
