RPL has Levy on November Ballot Voters who reside in the Alliance and Marlington school districts will see a renewal levy for Rodman Public Library on their ballots for the November 8 election. There are no new taxes associated with the levy that accounts for 35 percent of the library's operating budget.

A Couple Spots Still Remain for Teen Chopped The popular Teen Chopped will make its return to the RPL Main Auditorium from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1.
Teen chefs will be divided into teams of three members, and just like in the television show "Chopped," they will create three courses -- appetizer, main course, and dessert – from ingredient baskets. Teens will also have the full use of the Rodman Chopped pantry filled with spices and other essentials to complete their dish. A panel of three persons will then judge the round.
The event, which is supported by Friends of Rodman Public Library, is limited to 18 participants, so registration is required.

Teen Advisory Board Teens who want to help shape services and programs at Rodman Public Library are encouraged to join the Teen Advisory Board. A meeting will be held in the Main Library conference room from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8 for teens, ages 12-18, who are interested in joining. The group will meet regularly on the second Tuesday of each month to discuss ideas for programming and the library's collection for teens. Hours spent attending Teen Advisory Board meetings and helping with projects will count as volunteer hours. For more information, call 330-821-2665, ext. 217.

Nerf Night is November 3 Teens, ages 12-18, are invited to attend Nerf Night from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 3.
Teens should start to assemble in the Main Library auditorium at 5:15 p.m. for the after-hours event. Participants may bring in their own Nerf weapons or use some provided by the library. The library will also provide Nerf darts. Space is limited and registration is required. For more information, call the Reference Department at 330-821-2665, ext. 217. Nerf nights are held every other month.

New Teen D and D Opportunities at RPL Teens, 12-18, can sign up at Rodman Public Library to participate in an ongoing series of "one-shot" Dungeons and Dragons missions every month based on the Candlekeep Mysteries sourcebook. Players do not have to play consistently each month to participate. Those interested can sign up on a month-to-month basis. Space will be limited each month to six players. A DnD Beyond account and email address is required to play. The next session will be held Monday, November 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Main Library. Sessions are held on the second Monday of the month. October’s adventure will feature players on a quest to explore a mysterious adventure. Howl's Moving Castle is November Book Club Selection Rodman Public Library invites all teens who love to read to join the Teen Book Club. The group meets on the third Monday of each month at 4:00 p.m. in the conference room at the Main Library. Led by Jaime Gross, the next meeting will be on Monday, October 17, and the selected title will be Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones. Teen Writing Teens who have an interest in writing are encouraged to join Rodman Public Library for the Teen Writing Club that usually meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 3:30 p.m. at the Main Library. The next session is planned for November 9 and will be held in conjunction with a writer's workshop conducted by author Robin Yocum as part of the Fogle Author Series. Teen Anime Club All teens, ages 12-18, are invited to Rodman Public Library on fourth Tuesday of each month for Teen Anime Club. The next session will be Tuesday, November 29 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Teens will have the chance to pick their favorite episodes to be shown on RPL's big screen.
