RPL has Levy on November Ballot
 
Voters who reside in the Alliance and Marlington school districts will see a renewal levy for Rodman Public Library on their ballots for the November 8 election. There are no new taxes associated with the levy that accounts for 35 percent of the library's operating budget.
 
 
Robin Yocum to Appear at RPL on Nov. 9 as Fogle Author

Robin Yocum, an award-winning writer known for his fiction set in the Ohio River Valley, will appear at Rodman Public Library as part of the Fogle Author Series on Wednesday, Nov. 9. Yocum, whose book The Essay was the 2014 One Book One Community selection, has two works of nonfiction and six works of fiction to his credit. Yocum will give a writing workshop at 3:30 p.m. on the day of his visit and a 6:00 p.m. will give some remarks and sign books.
 
 
RPL to Host Christmas Movie Series in November
 
Rodman Public Library is getting into the holiday spirit early this year with a Christmas Movie Series during the month of November.

For three consecutive weeks, a holiday favorite will be shown on the big screen inside the Main Auditorium. Admission to the feature films will be free and fresh-popped popcorn will be provided by the library thanks to Friends of Rodman Public Library.
 
The films will include White Christmas on Tuesday, November 15; The Muppet Christmas Carol on Monday, November 21; and A Christmas Story on November 28.

All movies will begin at 5:30 p.m. and no registration is required to attend any of the movies, which are open to all ages. However, children under 13 years of age must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
New Wave Pioneer to Visit Alliance Vinyl Club

Described as a seminal new waver, Chris Butler is a musician best known for a few hits from the 1980s, yet he is still writing and recording with many unique works to his credit. Butler, an Akron-area native who was the driving force behind the band The Waitresses, will visit Rodman Public Library as a special guest of the Alliance Vinyl Club on Wednesday, November 16 at 6:30 p.m. Meetings are open to all music lovers.

The  Books and Coffee Book Club usually meets every second Monday of the month at the Rodman Branch Library.

True Crime Junkies
The True Crime Junkies, a book discussion group led by reference librarian Ashley Mock,  meets at 6:30 p.m. every third Tuesday of the month at the Main Library. The selection for the November 15 meeting is Hell's Half-Acre: The Untold Story of The Benders, A Serial Killer Family on the American Frontier by Susan Jonasus. Books can be obtained through the Rodman Library catalog or the Ohio Digital Library. The RPL Evening Book Club meets at 6:00 p.m. on the fourth Monday of each month in the Main Library. The November 28 selection is The Paris Library

Maker Monday
 
The Maker Monday program for November was filled early, but crafters can register for the December session starting November 1.
 
The December Maker Monday program will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Dec. 5 when crafters will create brush bottle trees.
 
All materials will be provided free of charge, thanks to the Friends of Rodman Public Library, but space is limited and registration is required.
 
Maker Monday, an adult crafting program led by Nicole Brown, is held on a select Monday each month at the Main Library. .
