Alliance Native Janice Hisle to Kick Off 2022 Fogle Author Series Janice Hisle, a 1982 graduate of Alliance High School, will kick off the 2022 Fogle Author Series on Saturday, Sept. 24 when she discusses her first book titled SUBMEREGED: Ryan Widmer, His Drowned Bride and the Justice System.

RPL to Screen Hocus Pocus With the planned release of Hocus Pocus 2 at the end of September, Rodman Public Library is getting into the Halloween spirit a little early this year. The library will screen the original 1993 American fantasy comedy Hocus Pocus at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 26 on the big screen in the Main Auditorium in a family-friendly, interactive event.

Books and Coffee The Books and Coffee Book Club usually meets every second Monday of the month at the Rodman Branch Library. Led by Charlene Duro, the next book club meeting will be on Monday, September 12 when the selected title will be The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah. True Crime JunkiesThe True Crime Junkies, a book discussion group led by reference librarian Ashley Mock, meets at 6:30 p.m. every third Tuesday of the month at the Main Library. The selection for the September 20 meeting is H.H. Holmes: The True History of the White City Devil by Adam Selzer. Alliance Vinyl Club Alliance Vinyl Club will celebrate its third anniversary at Rodman Public Library in September by playing music of the British Invasion, the pop culture phenomenon of the 1960s. Led by Byrun Reed, the group is open to all music lovers on the fourth Wednesday of every month, and offers those in attendance the opportunity to listen to music, hang out and make new friends.

Bookmobile Goes Back To School The Rodman Public Library Bookmobile will make 15 regular visits every two weeks during the 2022-2023 academic year. The 34-foot library on wheels runs two routes between late August and late May, providing service to thousands of students and their teachers at 13 area schools. On Saturday, September 24, the Bookmobile will take part in a Touch-A-Truck event at Butler-Rodman Park. The event, which will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, is sponsored by the Alliance Parks and the Alliance Lions Club. For more information, call 330-821-2665, ext. 108.
