New Year Brings Changes in Children's Department

The new year brings a transition to the leadership of Rodman Public Library's children's department.

Popular Programs Returning For
12-Week
Winter Run

Three of Rodman Public Library's most popular programs will return the week of January 16 for a 12-week winter run through the first week of April, including Wee Read, Family Fun Night and Storytime.

THIS MONTH'S KIDS BOOK CLUB SELECTION
Book Club Meets Jan. 18

Rodman Public Library invites children,
ages 8-12, to join the Kids Book Club,
which meets on the third Wednesday of each month. 
 
Sidekicks  by Dan Santant is the selected title
for the January 18  meeting.
 
Registration is required for each session.

Kids Gaming
 
 Kids Gaming is held on the first Wednesday of each month at Rodman Public Library in the Main Library Auditorium. From 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., children, ages 8-12, are treated to open play of video games, Minecraft, etc. on devices provided by the library. The next session is Wednesday, January 4.
 
No registration required.

Kids Crafting
 
Rodman Public Library’s monthly Kids Crafting program continues Thursday, January 12 when children, ages 6-12, are invited to come to the Main Library and make a snowman craft.
 
All materials used during monthly kids crafting programs are provided for free, thanks to the Friends of Rodman Public Library.
 
Registration is required.
 
GET CRAFTY AT THE BRANCH
Hot Pots Storytime 
 
Storytime with Hot Pots at the Rodman Branch Library continues in January with
a hot cocoa mug project.
 
Two sessions are planned, including one on Wednesday, January 4 from 6: 30 to 7:30 p.m., and another on
Saturday, January 7 from 11 a.m. to noon.
 
Children, ages 3-12, will come to the Branch for a mini storytime and then proceed to Hot Pots, accompanied by their guardian, to paint a hot cocoa mug with non-toxic glazes. 
 
The cost is $15 per child and registration is required. The fee for the event is payable
to Hot Pots upon registration at hotpotspottery.com

Branch Take and Make 
 
Starting Tuesday, January 3, children can stop by the Rodman Branch Library to pick up a "Warms My Heart Cocoa Mug" craft take and make project. All supplies for the craft are included as well as step-by-step instructions, thanks to Friends of Rodman Public Library. Supplies are limited and will be given out at a first come, first served basis.
