Bring the Little Ones in February 4

Rodman Public Library is encouraging all caregivers to bring their little ones in for a visit on Saturday, February 4, which is Take Your Child to the Library Day.
 
Several literacy stations and games will be set up throughout the children's area from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Main Library. A craft table will also be available as well as a "photo booth" where families can take pictures. Children can play BINGO at 2 p.m.

THIS MONTH'S KIDS BOOK CLUB SELECTION
Book Club Meets February 15

Rodman Public Library invites children,
ages 8-12, to join the Kids Book Club,
which meets on the third Wednesday of each month. 
 
The Chocolate Touch by Patrick Skene Catling is the selected title
for the February 15  meeting.
 
Registration is required for each session, which includes a brief discussion of the book, a fun activity and a snack.

Kids Gaming
 
Due to scheduling conflicts, Kids Gaming at Rodman Public Library will be held on dates other than the usual first Wednesday of every month during the months of February, March, and April.
 
In February, the monthly program will be held Thursday, February 2. The March session will be held Thursday, March 2, and the April date is Wednesday, April 12. All Kids Gaming sessions run from 4 to 5 p.m. inside the Rodman Public Library Auditorium.
 
In May, Kids Gaming will resume its regular meeting date of the first Wednesday of each month from 4 to 5 p.m.
 
During Kids Gaming, children ages 8-12 are treated to open play of video games, Minecraft, etc. on devices provided by the library.

Kids Crafting
 
Rodman Public Library’s monthly Kids Crafting program continues Thursday, February 9 when children, ages 7-12, are invited to come to the Main Library and decorate an 11- by 11-inch wooden heart
 
All materials used during monthly kids crafting programs are provided for free, thanks to the Friends of Rodman Public Library.

Wee Read

Rodman Public Library hosts Wee Read sessions every Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. and every Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m.  Children, ages birth through two years, and their parents or caregivers are invited to attend. Wee Read includes stories, fingerplays, music and movement. No registration is required. For more information, call the Main Library Children's Department at 330-821-2665, ext. 223. 
Family Fun Night
 
Each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., parents or caregivers and their children, ages 3 to 12, are invited to participate in an entertaining and educational evening in Rodman Main Children's Department as part of Family Fun Night. There will be stories before participants break into small groups to visit various stations where they will play games, complete challenges and create crafts that will provide fun for all ages. Storytime

Children, ages 3-5, and their parents or caregivers are invited to attend Storytime sessions held each Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Main Library. Evening Storytime sessions are held each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. as part of Family Fun Nights at the Main Library. Storytime is intended to encourage lifelong readers through stories, music, movement and activities. For more information, contact the Children's Department at 330-821-2665, ext. 223.
GET CRAFTY AT THE BRANCH
Hot Pots Storytime 
 
Storytime with Hot Pots at the Rodman Branch Library continues in February with
a Valentine theme.
 
Two sessions are planned, including one on Wednesday, February 8 from 6: 30 to 7:30 p.m., and another on
Saturday, February 11  from 11 a.m. to noon.
 
Children, ages 3-12, will come to the Branch for a mini storytime and then proceed to Hot Pots, accompanied by their guardian, to paint heart tealight candle luminary. 
 
The cost is $15 per child and registration is required. The fee for the event is payable
to Hot Pots upon registration at hotpotspottery.com

Branch Take and Make 
 
Starting Wednesday, February 1, children can stop by the Rodman Branch Library to pick up a Valentine owl picture frame craft take and make project. All supplies for the craft are included as well as step-by-step instructions, thanks to Friends of Rodman Public Library. Supplies are limited and will be given out at a first come, first served basis.
