Join Rodman Library's Summer Reading Program
Teens who enter the Oceans of Possibilities summer reading program and complete reading goals and easy challenges will have plenty of opportunities to earn entries to win one of three grand prizes, including a Nintendo Switch Lite, a $100 Amazon gift card, or a $100 GameStop gift card.

Arrrrrrre Ye Ready For The Pirate Escape Room? Ahoy, Me Hearties! All mateys, ages 12-18, are invited to Rodman Public Library on Tuesday, June 21 for a Pirate-themed Escape Room. Teen buccaneers will follow clues with the goal to unlock a treasure chest and plunder the booty, leaving the successful to exclaim "shiver me timbers," a fictional pirate’s expression of surprise. Lads and lassies can register in groups of five or as individuals. Each crew will be assigned a half hour increment between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to get ship shape and find the coffer. All scallywags must register.

Teen Writing Club Sponsors Summer Writing Contest Calling all teen writers: Rodman Public Library wants to read your work. Any teen, ages 12-18, can submit one (1) short story for the contest, but the teen must be able to come into the Main Library to pick up their prize, which will include a $25 Amazon gift card for first place and a $10 gift card for the runner-up. Every teen who enters the contest will receive a free book.

Watch Family Movies on RPL's Big Screen This Summer Rodman Public Library will host a Summer Movie Series in 2022, showing a family movie each month -- on June 6, July 12 and August 1 -- on the big screen in the Main Auditorium. In conjunction with the Oceans of Possibilities summer reading program, all three films will have an ocean theme.

Play Family BINGO at RPL This Summer Rodman Public Library will host two Family BINGO games this summer. Patrons of all ages are invited to play from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, June 27 and Monday, July 25. Where There's A Whisk is June Book Club Selection Rodman Public Library invites all teens who love to read to join the Teen Book Club. The group meets on the third Monday of each month at 4:00 p.m. in the conference room at the Main Library. Led by Jaime Gross, the next meeting will be on Monday, June 20, and the selected title will be Where There's a Whisk by Sarah J. Schmitt. Teen Gaming Area teens, ages 12-18, are invited to Rodman Public Library every other Thursday to play their favorite video games on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Playstation 3 & 4, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo WiiU. June sessions are planned for June 2, June 16, and June 30 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Main Auditorium. Teens will have the opportunity to play a different game each week. Games with ratings from "E" for Everyone, up to "T" for Teen level will be offered. No registration is required for these free gaming events. Teen Writing Teens who have an interest in writing are encouraged to join Rodman Public Library for the Teen Writing Club that meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 3:30 p.m. at the Main Library. The next sessions are planned for June 8 and June 22. Have fun meeting with your fellow teen writers to exchange ideas, hone your skills and share your work, if desired. No registration is required. Animal Crossing Cafe The Animal Crossing Café will be open inside Rodman Auditorium from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 18. Patrons of all ages are invited to bring in their Nintendo Switch and Animal Crossing game and socialize with others who play the game while enjoying refreshments provided by the library. To make best use of their time, patrons are encouraged to have their game updated. While hanging out, those attending can visit Rodman Public Library's island as well as others. Teen Anime Club All teens, ages 12-18, are invited to Rodman Public Library on select Tuesdays of each month for Teen Anime Club. The next session will be Tuesday, June 28 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Teens will have the chance to pick their favorite episodes to be shown on RPL's big screen.
