Bring Your Child to RPL on Saturday, February 5 Saturday, February 5 is Take Your Child to the Library Day, and Rodman Public Library is encouraging all caregivers to bring their little ones in for a visit. Kids who stop by the Children’s Department at the Main Library at any time that day will be treated to a free book and a craft kit to take home.

Celebrate National Pizza Day at Rodman Library The Rodman Public Library Children’s Department is marking National Pizza Day – February 9 -- in a special way. At 4:00 p.m. on that day, area children, ages 7-12, are invited to come and sample pizza from around the area during a Pizza Tasting Event. The kids will get bite-sized pieces of cheese pizza from various local pizzerias and then will judge each one by filling out a scorecard. Participating pizzerias include Chives, East Of Chicago, Gionino's, Papa Johns, Pizza Oven, Stone Age Pizza, and "Your" Pizza Shop, The pizza and drinks will be provided for free, thanks to Friends of Rodman Public Library and the participating pizzerias, but space is limited and registration is required. Play Animal Crossing February 26
Another Animal Crossing event is planned at Rodman Library in February. Patrons of all ages are invited to bring their Nintendo Switch and Animal Crossing game to the Main Library from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 26 to play the game with others and hang out while visiting other islands and collecting gold nuggets, bells, recipes, art and more. 11 Birthdays is February Book Club selection
Rodman Public Library invites children, ages 8-12, to join the Kids Book Club, which meets on the third Wednesday of each month. 11 Birthdays by Wendy Mass is the selected title for the February 16 meeting. Kids Book Club meetings include a brief discussion of the book, a fun activity and a snack. Registration is required for each session. Snowman Picture Frame is Branch Take and Make Starting Tuesday, February 1 children can stop by the Rodman Branch Library to pick up a snowman picture frame take and make project. All supplies for the craft are included as well as step-by-step instructions, thanks to Friends of Rodman Public Library. Kids Crafting Continues All children, ages 5-12, are invited to Rodman Public Library at 4 p.m. on Thursday, February 10 to make a watercolor doily banner. Kids Gaming Planned for February 2 Kids Gaming is held on the first Wednesday of each month at Rodman Public Library in the Main Library Auditorium. From 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., children, ages 8-12, are treated to open play of video games, Minecraft, etc. on devices provided by the library. The next session is Wednesday, February 2. Wee Read Held Mondays and Wednesdays Winter Wee Read sessions continue at Rodman Public Library. Wee Read, for ages birth through two years, is offered every Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. and every Wednesday morning at 10:30 a.m. Children and their parents or caregivers are invited to attend. Tuesday is Family Fun Night Family Fun Night continues every Tuesday at Rodman Public Library. Each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., parents or caregivers and their children, ages 3 to 12, are invited to participate in an entertaining and educational evening in Rodman Main Children’s Department. Following stories, participants break into small groups to visit various stations where they play games, complete challenges and create crafts that provide fun for all ages.

Storytime Continues at RPL Children, ages 3-5, and their parents or caregivers are invited to attend Storytime sessions each Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Main Library. Evening Storytime sessions are held each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. as part of Family Fun Nights at the Main Library. Dr. Seuss Day on March 5 at The Branch The event will begin with Storytime and will feature several Dr. Seuss-related activities including making oobleck, making Lorax flower pots, a coloring station where kids can color their socks for Fox in Socks, a guessing game, scavenger hunt and more.
