RPL has Levy on November Ballot Voters who reside in the Alliance and Marlington school districts will see a renewal levy for Rodman Public Library on their ballots for the November 8 election. There are no new taxes associated with the levy that accounts for 35 percent of the library's operating budget.

Halloween Party Set for Oct. 15 Rodman Public Library's popular children's Halloween party will be held Saturday, October 15 at the Main Library. Open to families with children of all ages, the festivities will include a craft, treats, games and more. Families can stop by the Children’s Department anytime between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. to take part in the fun. Costumes are not mandatory, but they are encouraged. No Registration is necessary. Wee Read Rodman Public Library offers Wee Read on Monday evenings at 6:30 p.m. and Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m.
Children, ages birth through two years, and their parents or caregivers are invited to attend. Wee Read includes stories, fingerplays, music and movement. No registration is required. For information, call 330-821-2665, ext. 223. NOTE: Wee Read will not be held on Monday, October 31.

Family Fun Night Each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. between September 13 and November 8, parents or caregivers and their children, ages 3 to 12, are invited to participate in an entertaining and educational evening in Rodman Main Children's Department as part of Family Fun Night. There will be stories before participants break into small groups to visit various stations where they will play games, complete challenges and create crafts that will provide fun for all ages. Storytime Children, ages 3-5, and their parents or caregivers are invited to attend Storytime sessions this fall at Rodman Public Library. Morning sessions are held each Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Evening Storytime sessions will be held each Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. as part of Family Fun Night at the Main Library. Book Club Meets Oct. 19 Rodman Public Library invites children,
ages 8-12, to join the Kids Book Club, which meets on the third Wednesday of each month. Kids Gaming Kids Gaming is held on the first Wednesday of each month at Rodman Public Library in the Main Library Auditorium. From 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., children, ages 8-12, are treated to open play of video games, Minecraft, etc. on devices provided by the library. The next session is Wednesday, October 5. Kids Crafting Children, ages 7-12, are invited to Rodman Public Library at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 20 to make a zentangle pumpkin. All materials are free for monthly kids crafting programs sponsored by Friends of Rodman Public Library, but space is limited and registration is required. Hot Pots Storytime Returns Hot Pots Storytime at Rodman Branch Library is back. Held at both the Branch Library and at Hot Pots, two sessions are planned, including one on Wednesday, Sept. 28 from 6: 30 to 7:30 p.m., and another on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 11 a.m. to noon. Participants should meet at the Rodman Library Branch for a pumpkin story then walk to Hot Pots to paint their own groovy marbelized pumpkin. Youngsters will choose their pumpkin color then select colors for a spectacular swirl color overcoat. Pumpkins will go home the same day. The event is open to children ages 3-12 and the cost is $10 per child. Patrons must register with Hot Pots by calling 330-823-3333 or online at hotpotspottery.com. Pumpkin Painting Planned Area children are invited to a family pumpkin painting event at the Rodman Branch Library on Saturday, October 8. Children can visit the Branch Library on that day between 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. to pick out a pumpkin and paint it during the make and take activity. Pumpkin Patch Magnetic Photo Frame is Branch Take and Make Starting Saturday, October 1, children can stop by the Rodman Branch Library to pick up a pumpkin patch magnetic picture frame take and make project. All supplies for the craft are included as well as step-by-step instructions, thanks to Friends of Rodman Public Library.
