Do you crochet, knit, needlepoint, sew, or quilt? If so, get together with fellow "threaders" for a creativity blast! Come work on your unfinished projects, show off finished projects, and check out what other people are doing. "Threads & More" group is an informal friendly group that welcomes all interest and abilities. The group meets on the first Tuesday of each month. This program is for adults 18 and older. TAG Teen Advisory Group Tues, Jan 4 @ 2:45 pm Teens in grades 8-12 get together to share ideas about the teen area in the library. They help create and plan programs. This group also has opportunities to earn volunteer hours. Great chance to meet new people and have some fun and laughs.

The group supports and cooperates with the Yorkville Public Library in developing, maintaining, and enhancing facilities, resources, and services of the Library through membership dues and fundraising.

Stop by any time Tuesday- Friday 9:00am -6:00pm to experience a parent/child guided opportunity for hands on literacy instruction. Literacy Centers are designed to give children ample opportunity to practice the very important skills of listening, reading, writing, and speaking.

Read with Paws Sat, Jan 15 @ 10:30 am Please contact the library at 630-553-4354 ext. 108 for your 15 minute time slot. Children can come to the library, select a book and read to a furry friend. All therapy dogs and handlers have been certified by an accredited organization. This program was designed originally because children feel less pressure to read to a dog than an adult; so it was meant to be a way to help struggling readers or even just encourage reading. It is open to all levels of readers and non-readers. Space is limited.

Jan 24 - Jan 27 anytime LEGOs ARE BACK! We will provide you a theme and a container of various LEGOs to use in the library. Use only the blocks provided and your creativity to make your build. Your creation will be added to the LEGO display at the library. Please register on the website, then come in anytime the week of January 24-27 to make your creation.

Creative Writing Group Tues, Jan 25, 7:00 pm Whether you are looking to write the next great thriller, your biography, a short story, or even develop your professional writing skills, this program may be for you. This group is for all people who are passionate about words. Its intent is to create a positive, encouraging, honest, and fun atmosphere that will support and motivate each person to achieve excellence in writing. Book Club (Grades 3-5) Mon, Jan 10 & Jan 24 @ 4:30 pm This two session book club starts December 6. During the first session, your child will receive a copy of the chapter book to check out on your library card. They will have two weeks to read the entire book for discussion on December 20. Harry Potter Book Club Thurs, Jan 27 @ 4:30 pm Hey Muggles! Harry Potter Book Club has arrived. Join Mackenzie each month for a magical discussion on each book in the series. The fourth book "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" can be picked up at the Youth Service Desk starting January 6. The teens will read Chapters 1-20 for the January 27 discussion. There will be a Harry Potter Party after the completion of the final book. Please register, space is limited.
