One-on-One Technology Help
Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:30 AM, 1:00 PM, and 2:00 PM and Wednesdays at 2:00 PM and 6:30 PM
Do you need help getting around your laptop or tablet? Would you like to set up an email account? Do you want to download an eBook? Need help searching for and applying for jobs? One-on-one technology help appointments are now available. Appointments last up to 1 hour. Registration is required. Masks are required. This program is supported with federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds allocated to the New York State Library by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
 
Fika
Monday - Friday, 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Take a cue from the Swedes and enjoy Fika at Salina Library. Make time to pause and refresh, to socialize and energize. Bring a friend or chat with someone new. Coffee and tea available for a $1 donation.
 
Mah Jongg Club
Tuesdays at 12:00 pm

Salina Trailwalkers: Creekwalk - Destiny
Saturday, August 6 at 9:00 am
Park at Destiny in lot 4-PINK; the lot with the walking bridge at Solar Street. Look for the car with the blue flag. Walk is about 1 mile.  Rain date is Saturday, August 13 at 9:00 am.

Craft Kit for Adults with Disabilities: Watermelon Suncatcher
Begins August 23
Create a watermelon suncatcher with the help of a friend or family member.  One kit per adult; limit 10 per group.  While supplies last.
 
Sewing Class: Bandana Bag
Tuesday, August 23 at 6:30 pm
Stitch up a bandana bag with a snap enclosure using a sewing machine. Colors vary.  For adults 18+.  Registration is required.

Monthly Kits for Kids & Teens
 
Story Time Kit
Each month, Miss Monica will prepare a Storytime Kit to go along with that month’s story time themes.  Each kit contains: one coloring page for each week, with songs and rhymes to go with the weekly theme; a sticker, and a monthly craft.  Recommended for ages 3-6. To pick up a kit, stop by the library or set up a Curbside Pickup appointment by calling us at 315-454-4524.

This summer, Miss Monica is preparing a new take-home craft kit for each week of our Summer Reading Program; Oceans of Possibilities! Recommended for ages 6 and up. To pick up a kit, stop by the library or set up a Curbside Pickup appointment by calling us at 315-454-4524.

Fun For All Story Time 
Wednesdays, 11:00 AM –  August 3, 10, & 17
Preschoolers and early elementary aged children alike will enjoy stories, interactive rhymes and songs, and a craft, based on a different theme each week!  For ages 3-7.   We will be meeting outside, weather permitting. Families/groups are requested to bring a beach towel or picnic blanket if possible for a family space, and a few will be available if needed.

Zoo to You

The world of reading comes alive with this fun and educational program that will bring you face-to-face with exciting zoo animals.  Get hands-on with the zoo's one-of-a-kind animal artifacts, ask a professional zoo educator your animal questions, and learn how you can make a difference to wildlife. For children entering grades PK-5 and their families. What Do You Sea? with Jeff the Magic Man

This brand-new magic show will explore the possibilities of imagination!  Jeff the Magic Man combines interactive storytelling, magical feats, and his whimsical personality into this delightful show.  For the grand finale, Jeff will make his oceanic themed balloon art creatiosn for every child to take home!  This performance will also be our Summer Reading finale, to honor all of our great readers for the summer! Lightning Thief Escape Room

Oceans of Possibilities: 2022 Summer Reading Program

This summer, the Salina Library offers Kids and Teens weekly opportunities to win prizes and join in fun activities as part of our Summer Reading Program: Oceans of Possibilities!  Registration begins June 20th for kids in grades PK-5 and Teens in grades 6-12. Register online at http://salinalibny10.readsquared.com/ , through the ReadSquared app, or in person at our circulation desk and start reading and recording the time you spend reading each day.  Stop in the library once a week with your paper or digital reading record to pick out a prize and enter to win one of our many raffle prizes!  Everyone who participates at least once by August 7th will get to pick a FREE book to keep!  Don’t forget to pick up one of our weekly Take-Home Craft Kits, or join in one of our weekly events—Free!
