Tech Help by AppointmentTuesdays and Fridays at 10:30 AM, 1:00 PM, and 2:00 PM and Wednesdays at 2:00 PM and 6:30 PM Do you need help getting around your laptop or tablet? Would you like to set up an email account? Do you want to download an eBook? Need help searching for and applying for jobs? Tech help appointments are now available. Appointments last up to 1 hour. Registration is required. Masks are required. This program is supported with federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds allocated to the New York State Library by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).

Fika: The Swedish Coffee Break Wednesdays at 3:00 pm Make time to pause and refresh, to socialize and energize. Meet new people or bring along a friend. Refreshments are available for a donation or you can bring your own.

Mah Jongg Club Tuesdays at 12:00 pm Players of all experience levels are welcome to join. National Mah Jongg League rules.

Book Signing EventSaturday, October 1 at 11:00 am Salina Library hosts local authors Glenn Ivers, Kate Monto, Bekah Kurz, and Patricia Antone, and Laura Livingston Snyder. They will discuss and take questions about their books. Copies will be available for purchase and signing.

Art Reception: Ken Nichols Monday, October 3 at 7:00 pm Meet the artist and view his paintings displayed in the library. Selected pottery will also be available.

Crochet Class: Oak Leaf Hair Clip Tuesday, October 4 at 6:00 pm Crochet an oak leaf then turn it into a hair clip. Bring an F hook. For adults 18+. Registration is required.

Salina Trailwalkers: Shoreline Walking Trail at Onondaga Lake Saturday, October 8 at 10:00 am Park at the south entrance of Onondaga Lake near Wegmans playground. Look for the car with the blue flag. Walk is about 3 miles. Rain date is Saturday, October 22 at 10:00 am. Please register.

Monday Mysteries: Raven Black by Anne Cleeves Monday, October 10 at 3:00 pm Mystery lovers will enjoy the variety of mysteries discussed in this monthly group. New members are always welcome. Please register.

Game Night: Tripoley Tuesday, October 11 at 6:00 pm Meet up for an evening of playing Tripoley. Similar to Michigan Rummy, this game is quick to pick up and fun to play. Registration is required. For adults 18+.

Wreath Contest Begins Wednesday, October 12 Pick up a wreath form kit then create your best autumn wreath. Send us a picture to be entered in the contest. Winner gets a Pumpkin Spice Gift Bag! For adults 18+ While supplies last. Ends 11/1/2022.

The Great Give Back: CNY SPCA Saturday, October 15 at 10:00 am Bring in your new items to donate to the SPCA from 9/14-10/15. On October 15th from 10-2, come in to the library and meet the SPCA's outreach dogs. Learn about the shelter and adopting. Make a dog or cat toy to keep or donate. Salina Library will present all donations to the SPCA representative.

Salina Library Writing Group Wednesday, October 19 at 6:30 pm Hone your writing skills or learn to write for various media. Facilitated by Debbie Stack, local author, editor, and TV scriptwriter, this group is a great way to get feedback and share questions and ideas. For adults 18+. Please register.

Page Turners Book Club: The Women's March by Jennifer Chiaverini Tuesday, October 25 at 6:30 pm Page Turners meet every month on the last Tuesday. You can join in person or via Google Meet. Please register. New members are welcome!

Craft Kit for Adults with Disabilities: Lollipop Spider Begins Wednesday, October 26 Create a fun spider that is also a treat! Pick up a kit any time the library is open, while supplies last. Limit 1 per patron or 10 per group.

Booktown: Halloween Monday, October 31 at 4:00 pm A place for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to socialize and read and discuss books. Bring your own books on the monthly topic or books will be available. Registration is required for each person that will be in the room. Masks are required.

Early Learners Story Time Wednesdays, 11:00 AM – October 5, 12, 19, & 26 Get your child ready for school! With stories, rhymes, songs, and crafts, your child will learn important early literacy and social skills in an environment suited to their developmental needs. No registration required. We will be meeting in our community room, following COVID precautions. For children ages 2-4 years old, with accompanying adult. Feel free to pick up a monthly Storytime at Home Kit for coloring pages, a craft, sticker, as well as songs and rhymes to join along with Miss Monica -- or create your own storytime -- from home!
