Explore an Ocean of Possibilities this summer by reading, learning, creating, and having fun when you participate in the Lyon Township Public Library Summer Reading Challenge! Registration is open, and activities officially kick off in the second half of June to coincide with the end of school. Summer Reading concludes on August 31, 2022.
 
To participate in the Summer Reading Challenge, you will need to register each member of your family online in our READsquared portal. All ages are welcome and encouraged to participate; we have challenges for Read-to-Mes (Ages 0-4), Kids (Pre-K-5th), Middle/High (6th-12th), and Adults (18+). Once registered, you will be able to log reading, complete activities, play games, earn badges, track points, and claim prizes. Register here: 
 
 
Special Meeting for New Library-Park Project on Monday, June 20 at 5pm
The Lyon Township Board of Trustees and the LTPL Board of Trustees will be meeting to discuss the new Library-Park project!

On Monday, June 20 at 5pm the Lyon Township Board of Trustees and the Lyon Township Public Library Board of Trustees will be having a Special Meeting at the Township Hall (5800 Grand River, New Hudson, MI 48165)* as a workshop to discuss the joint new Library and Township Park project which has been in development the past several months. The Special Meeting agenda includes discussion of the the library-park conceptual design, park amenities, cost breakdown, and use of the current library/community center facility. The actual, final project will then be voted on by the Lyon Township Public Library Board at their next meeting on Tuesday, June 28 at 7pm and by the Township Board at their next meeting on Tuesday, July 5 at 7pm.

*The Library will be closed on Monday, June 20 in observance of Juneteenth. Please take note that the special meeting will NOT be taking place at the library but will instead be held at the Township Hall (5800 Grand River, New Hudson MI 48165).

Hang out with us at Music on the Grand and enjoy some music, activities, food, and fun!

The Lyon Township Downtown Development Authority will be hosting a summer concert series this June and July called Music on the Grand! Events will take place every other Wednesday from 6-8pm. The Lyon Township Public Library will be attending three evenings in June on the 1st, 15th, and 29th. 
 
Stop by, set up some blankets and lawn chairs, and enjoy some musical entertainment--from rock, to blues, to country, there will be a different musical genre for each date in the series. We will have our own tent set up with swag, crafts, informational materials, lawn games and more. So come on down and enjoy a summer evening with the family, visit with LTPL, listen to some music, and have some fun!
