New Library Updates
LTPL has been hard at work on the plans for your new library! Please have a look at our updated floor plan and draft site plan. We are currently working on coordinating with utility companies, furniture selection, planning for new technologies, and so much more. We hope to break ground in summer - and we will be certain to share that information as soon as we can.

The Library Board and staff are thankful to our team - Quinn Evans Architects, Civil Engineering Solutions and Frank Rewold & Sons- for their dedication to the project.

Visit the Reimagine Your Library page on our website to stay up to date with the latest information as planning progresses.

Sharks in the Time of Saviors
by Kawai Strong Washburn

In 1995 Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, on a rare family vacation, 7-year-old Nainoa Flores falls overboard a cruise ship into the Pacific Ocean. When a shiver of sharks appears in the water, everyone fears for the worst. But instead, Noa is gingerly delivered to his mother in the jaws of a shark, marking his story as the stuff of legends. Nainoa's family, struggling amidst the collapse of the sugarcane industry, hails his rescue as a sign of favor from ancient Hawaiian gods--a belief that appears validated after he exhibits puzzling new abilities. But as time passes, this supposed divine favor begins to drive the family apart... When supernatural events revisit the Flores family in Hawaii--with tragic consequences--they are all forced to reckon with the bonds of family, the meaning of heritage, and the cost of survival.

by Madi Sinha

Dr. Maya Rao is a gynecologist trying to balance a busy life. With three young children, a career, and a happy marriage, she should be grateful-on paper, she has it all. An opportunity arises when Maya crosses paths with Amelia DeGilles at a school meeting. Amelia is the owner and entrepreneur behind Eunoia Women's Health, a concierge wellness clinic that specializes in house calls for its clientele of wealthy women for whom no vitamin infusion or healing crystal is too expensive. When Amelia's teenaged daughter is struck with a mysterious ailment, Maya must race to uncover the reason before it's too late.
