Tri-County Broadband Survey

Lyon Township is one of the communities that has been identified as a lower broadband access area. The Merit Network is asking residents to complete this 5-minutes survey to help to improve access to high speed internet in our community.

Why High-Speed Internet Matters:
Now, more than ever, high-speed Internet is an essential and crucial service to those who live, learn and work in Macomb, Oakland and Wayne Counties. Unfortunately, reliable high-speed Internet access is unavailable county-wide. Accurate information about connectivity is needed to help bring high-speed Internet access to everyone in the Tri-County area.

If you don’t have internet service, you can still take this survey on a cellular web browser or text @moon to 1-855-613-1746. To request a paper survey, please contact 313-625-0029.

Future Library Plans
 The New Library Project

The LTPL administrative team is working diligently with the architects on the design of the new library. They are also working with the Township on the 11 mile and Milford Road site development. We understand everyone is eager for our new library - we are, too! Keep checking back for a community engagement opportunity to view some potential plans later this summer!

Books to Read during Pride Month
The celebrants : a novel
by Steven Rowley

It's been five years since Jordan Vargas last saw his college friends, and twenty-eight years since their graduation when their adult lives officially began. Now Jordan, Jordy, Naomi, Craig, and Marielle find themselves at the brink of a new decade, with all the responsibilities of adulthood, yet no closer to having their lives figured out. Over the years they've reunited in Big Sur to honor a decades-old pact to throw each other living "funerals," celebrations to remind themselves that their lives mean something, to one another if not to themselves. But this reunion is different. They're not gathered as they were to bolster Marielle as her marriage crumbled, to lift Naomi after her parents died, or to intervene when Craig pleaded guilty to art fraud. This time, Jordan is sitting on a secret that will upend their pact.
The house of impossible beauties
by Joseph Cassara

A first novel, inspired by the House of Xtravaganza made famous in the documentary Paris Is Burning, follows a cast of gay and transgender kids navigating the Harlem ball scene of the 1980s and 1990s.
All in : an autobiography
by Billie Jean King

In this spirited account, Billie Jean King details her life's journey to find her true self. She recounts her groundbreaking tennis career--six years as the top-ranked woman in the world, twenty Wimbledon championships, thirty-nine grand-slam titles, and her watershed defeat of Bobby Riggs in the famous "Battle of the Sexes." She poignantly recalls the cultural backdrop of those years and the profound impact on her worldview from the women's movement, the assassinations and anti-war protests of the 1960s, the civil rights movement, and, eventually, the LGBTQ+ rights movement.
