- Presented in-person by Lisa Howard
- Now more than ever before, we want to know where our food comes from. During this program, we’ll talk about the differences between animals raised on pasture and animals raised in confined animal feeding operations and why it’s worth choosing the former. We'll also talk about different types of produce and how they're grown, you'll get practical culinary tips for how to make the most out of all of your ingredients.

- Please join the Alliance of Coalitions for Healthy Communities and South Lyon Community Coalition for a free community Naloxone/Narcan training. Equip yourself with knowledge on how to properly administer Intra-Naloxone, the overdose reversal drug.

Paws For Reading- Wednesday, October 30
- New or struggling readers in grades 1-5 are invited to sign up for a 15-minute "Paws for Reading" session with one of our local certified therapy dogs.
- The goal is to provide a non-judgmental atmosphere in which kids can read without correction or interruption and learn to love reading as well. A handful of books will be available, but feel free to bring one from home.
- Sessions are 15 minutes long. Registration is required. Please choose one session:
5:30-5:45pm , 5:45-6pm , 6pm-6:15pm, 6:15-6:30pm , 6:30-6:45pm

Coming Up: Sand Art Turkey Take-and-Make Craft Kit- You've heard of a turkey sandwich, but have you ever heard of turkey sand art? This unique craft project features a mandala feather design pattern and makes a great table decoration at Thanksgiving dinner. Includes sticky board, cover sheet, googly eyes and bags of assorted color sand.
- Kits will be available to pick up in the curbside lobby beginning Tuesday, November 5th. Any kits not picked up by Tuesday, November 12th will be offered to children on the wait list.

Community Document Shredding October 19, 9am to 1pm at LTPL We are partnering with Salem-South Lyon District Library to offer document shredding events to members of our communities! Consumer fraud and identity theft are putting communities at risk. To raise awareness and to promote privacy protection, we are providing paper shredding for local residents. Lyon Township residents may bring a box or two of confidential papers that need to be securely destroyed. All documents will be destroyed on site.

- Volunteer to organize all of the donations that are dropped off to the library
- Assist in setting up the annual book sales 3 or 4x a year
- Volunteer to run the book sales
- Help recruit new Friends to the group
- Share ideas for special events to fund raise and support the library!
